The 'unmastered' version is distinctly mono up to about 1:49 and then again in the next verse, the mastered version has much more stereo imaging going on.

Yes, we decided tha it would be better that way :)

I think it sounds good. A little noticeable hiss at the beginning but there may not be a fix for that as its in the recording.

Sounds good to me. I would be happy with it.

No, iz was just mastered. The hiss is from tape (it is recorded analog), but hiss doesn't bother me at all :)

Took a listen, liked and commented on Soundcloud! Really great tune, very catchy and the vocal work is spot on. Just for one set of ears, I liked the "premastered" version better, the only thing I would have done is bring the lead vocal up just a bit.

Took a second listen and the mastered version does bring your vocal right out there where it should be, just to show that first impression aren't always right.
Really like that you used tape, I only switched to digital in the past year but still do a lot tape work too. Great job, I'm sure it will be fine with the mastered version.

Hello,
thank you very much :)

I thought the mastered version was a bit clearer and the low end was more stable. I thought it was a decent improvement over the original. But I think they went a bit overboard on the clarity thing. The vocal and acoustic guitar boarder on being scratchy/abrasive.

First of all, this is lovely. Exactly the sort of music I listen to (think anything Zach Braff put into Scrubs, Garden State, or other movies). It's a shame about the hiss at the beginning, because it became much more pronounced in the mastering. I would have brought the vox up 1-2db in the original mix, but they managed to bring it out in the master.

Singer gets 10 points. I would be happy with this and move forward. Everything sounds good.

You have created something very beautiful.
I really like the simplicity of the beginning contrasted with the very full harmonies at about 1:50. That is a great moment.
Going back and forth between the mix and the master, it sounds like in the master it is brighter and more alive sounding. I like it.
