Hey lads (and lasses...)

I'm terribly new to all this stuff and I've just purchased an Akai MPD26, I have it connected and I've set up the faders, nobs etc but I can't figure nor find anything to do with assigning the pads with samples/sounds.

As far as I've seen, everyone seems to have a sidebar like this:
7DgbY1H.webp

But mine is like this, and I can't find out how to get the same sidebar in the first image as you can see I don't have the same icons and options on the far left side:
r0l3P1h.webp

So if anyone could please, please please help me out that'd be great as I'm dying to play around with this thing.

I'm using Ableton Live 9 Suite on MacBook Pro OS X Yosemite.

Nvm, figured out how to assign the pads now.

Only question is now is how to separate the individual pads when I'm recording rather than recording all on the same 'drum rack' track like so:
WVy4sXP.webp

Hope you guys can understand, it's hard for me as I don't know all the correct terminology yet.

That is the point of the drum rack. Each hit is recorded and between being able to mix the volume with the rack and editing the hits, usually it it not necessary to record each track. But, if you want to the samples on each track, you can just use the analog samples on each track, create and instrument on each track, many different ways to accomplish this task.

Ah, I see I see.

Do you know if there are any good video or text tutorials on how to loop as well? I've searched around but can't really find an amazing one.
