I'd like Gibson's 339 which is a 335 shrunk down to the size of a les paul. drool
I have the 359 - 339 w/bling; gold, ebony, split diamond headstock, etc. Schweet git.

Glad to see you guys are still gettin' after it. It's all about the toanz.

Hi Gerg. I still check in. If I start playing again I'll post more. Going thru some down time. Nuthin' serious just busy and lacking musical motivation. Reading this shit does get me thinkin' though...

Take care.

Greg: Thanks for putting up with all my stupid shit man, you've been a big help...Thanks for the compliments too, I really appreciate 'em....Now, that's 1 down....about 8-9 more to go....LOL....But, it won't be as hard/frustrating as the first one, I can save all that shit as styles/grooves/fills/etc in Jamstix, & save the kit in Superior for later....Thanks again!!!! Oh yeah, I won't pester you like I've been doing for the past week or so...LOL...

Jonny: Congrats man!!! Pics & clips when she arrives!!!!

Lou: Glad to see you drop in man, been a long time since I've saw you 'round....

So my JCM1 arrived, but I'm at work and I'm going to see the new RoboCop after, so it'll have to wait until tomorrow night :(.

Now I see that GuitarGuitar are selling off the JTM1 combos for £349, more than £200 off the initial price - they got 12 in to sell off - Marshall must be having trouble getting rid of them all two years later, so come to a deal with them.

Marshall JTM1C 50th Anniversary 1 Watt Combo (End-of-Line Deal)

I'm not sure about the 137 ....... I just did a quick search but it looks like it's hollow. But I may be wrong.

It has a centre block. That was part of it's design consideration. To give 175 enthusiasts a 335 build style.

A give away for whether there is a centre block is often the stop tailpiece. If it has one then it is certain to be a centre block construction.

Congrats man!!!! You know, I think I'd have to pass on the RoboCop thing myself, especially if it was new amp day for me....I actually took a day off work when I got my Tweaker...LOL...

Pics & clips when you can dude, & congrats again!!!!

That's actually a pretty good deal, I'm really not interested in the JTM-1 myself, though I'd own 'em all if I had the $$$....The two that interest me the most are the JMP-1 & the JCM-1...but, I'm a broke fucker, & will have to make due with what I've got....for now...:)

That's what I thought - I haven't heard it and the JCM1 was the sound I'm really after, but the price suddenly makes it very interesting!

Lol, that aint true. I play and record all the time. In fact, I've got more playing and recording on my plate right now than ever. :listeningmusic: :cursing:

Cool man, congrats. I think I'd skip the movie myself. :D

Ok keeping our little tone thread alive, & well, with what it was intended for, here's a shitty little clip I did this morning...Nothing special, just fucking around before I head out the door to go get my paycheck this week...

I actually recorded a di, then re-amped it (as I played actually...:D) with some "stomps" from Amplitube going into the amp....

Guess technically the signal chain would be:

LP > interface > compressor > univibe > re-amp box > DSL-1 > T-75 > '57 & C1 mics > 'verb added in daw

DSL-1:
1 watt mode
green channel
Volume: 10
Gain: 10
Bass: 10
Mid: 4
Treble: 7-8
Deep: On
Mid Shift: Off

I wasn't really going for any particular sound, other than a vintage-ish thing, plus, I've always loved the univibe sound, & figured I'd record something while I was killing some time...

fake-ass univibe

I'm not crazy about the univibe. I mean you did good with it, I just don't like that effect. Clip sounds good, A LITTLE CRISP, BUT GOOD OVERALL. Sorry bout the caps. Finger slipped. :laughings:

Thanks dude, yeah, I know it's bright, treble-y, ain't I famous for that shit???? LOL.....I did have the treble jacked up on the amp, & I did fuck around with the mic placement a little today, probably moved it too much toward the center....Ya know, something just hit me, if I was a bright as my tones, I'd be a smart motherfucker...:thumbs up:.

I keep forgetting, you're a punk-rocker dude, & you don't like effects like I do....Hell, you don't like a lot of the same music that I do for that matter...LOL...I tried getting into the punk thing in high school, but was already long gone with the hair metal shit, & just couldn't be converted, even when my friends kept pushing it on me...I did try though.....:D.

FWIW, I think I'm just about ready to track guitars & bass on a couple of those songs...I've been fucking around with 'em today, & think I'm about ready to record some shit, instead of fucking with the drum programming for fuck's sake....I've got a whole lot better idea of what I need to do with that shit (Jamstix, Superior, etc), I just need to keep at it & get it done...While I did ok with the piano roll/hand programming those fuckers, I think once I finally get a handle on that program (Jamstix), it's gonna work out dude....Beleive it or not, it may even be faster with Jamstix (which is a big part of the plan), if I ever get the fuckin' hang of it that is.....

Maybe I'll finish a song by the time I turn 50...:laughings:

I've been watching it snow here for the past few hours, & we've got about 3-4" now....It started about 5 this evening, & it's around 9:30 now....We're supposed to get it pretty bad the next couple days....

I went to pick up my paycheck this morning, & you wouldn't believe the fucking nuts out stocking up on shit (fucking flipping out & going bat-shit crazy over the snow that's supposed to hit here)....I'm a firm believer in being prepared, but these fuckin' people are just goddamn crazy!!!! I saw an old man (probably about 65 at least) knock a younger guy (in his 20's I'm guessing) on his ass trying to get some kerosene today, that old fucker looked like Dick Butkus running over him, instead of chasing the football, he was after some fuckin' kerosene though...:).

Haha, well I do like some effects, but maybe not like most people do. I like flangers, phasers, wahs, tremolos, but they have to sound a certain way for me. I don't want them to sound very "musical". I don't want them to be a subtle enhancement. I usually want them to be wild and crazy. There's really only one effect that I pretty much universally flat out hate, and that's chorus. I can't stand chorus on guitars. I just don't like it. It's really not that much different from flangers and phasers - which I love - but chorus has something about it that just sounds cheese to me. Maybe I've just heard too many 80s power ballads featuring clean electrics with chorus dripping all over them. Hate it.

spent the last two weeks totally rewiring and setting up the studio so I should have some clips of my own in a few days.
As per my usual process I won't care how they sound!
Prolly start off with some nice chorus!

The biggest personal insult you can offer some one in a few of the bands I play in is to call them "a flanger".. Lets have some of that first so I can hit them with it..:thumbs up:
