That's just how it is.
Don't look for any logic to it or for some English language explanation.
Just accept it, and use it that way.

:)

And while we're on the subject of spelling.....it's rhythm...not rythem, rhythum, ryhtm or anything else.
If you can't spell rhythm....how can you expect to have any. ;)

For me it is "mikes" and "miking".

Just like for me it's "colour", not "color".

Yes! Thought I was the only one.

Micing is what you cat does....

I'll stick with micing. And FWIW I can't spell rhythm either
While we're at it, it's drummer's perspective thank you.

.. huh?

:D

IDK, after having been there done that' I just came to the conclusion both ways were ..well wrong, just from different directions. :) I.e, pick your poison

Instead of "mic", we should say "microphone"

Instead of "micing" or "miking" we should say, "placing a microphone in an appropriate position near a sound source to capture the audio signal from said sound source."

Newbs...

Exactly. I never shorten the word microphone.

I want to get a nanophone. (microscopic mic - or is that mikroskopic mike?)
