Hi,
I'm looking for recording software that I can use with a windows 7 computer. I'm looking for a program that can edit files, and master. I record through a Fostex VF-16, and various 4-track, 2-track analog. I would like to be able to load those signals into a computer to be able to do some editing, manipulating, etc. Any good suggesstions?

John, almost all of the DAWs out there run on Win7. Reaper is indeed a good DAW to start with as it is pretty inexpensive and powerful. But your question is pretty open as there are so many choices.

For editing, (depending what you mean by that) you have a couple of choices, there are non-destructive editing inside most DAWs (length and split) and there are destructive editors like Audacity (even this one still leaves you original in place), So, it is once again a very wide open question. Read around the forum and see what everyone is using.
