One simple mixing question that i cannt answer

If you write a track of instrument..Like guitar but in several tracks..Should i combine them now ..or not?
If i would like to put different effects to the chorus for example..

Yes.....then again no.

If you write a post....like asking something about mixing....can you formulate your question a little clearer....or not?
If you would like to get proper answers, like to this question for example.

Based on IP address, English may not be his first language.

OP, try to word it a little better for us.

I am sorry ..I am from Greece
Lets say i write a track of guitar but i write this track to several channels..Should i combine them on pro tools ..or not?
If i would like for example to put different effects to the chorus..

Yes, that's one way of doing it. You could take each section that you want to put effects on and when you've effected all the parts you want, combine them as one track onto a single track. With instruments that I don't play well, I sometimes record them in sections then combine all the parts onto one track so it makes me sound like a multi instrumental wizard.......

You can automate effects (assuming you are using a full-featured DAW, like Reaper) to only come on for certain sections of the track.

I am using pro tools..Automation can work?

Sure, automation can be done on almost everything you can imagine in PT.

But, It might be easier to leave it in piece and not automate at all.

For example, maybe you have 2 pieces of the same guitar track. Piece one is the verse, piece 2 is the chorus. You want a big a big reverb on in just the chorus (or any other effect, whatever). Just leave the pieces separate and put that reverb on only piece 2. No automation needed. That technique is called multing.

Either way will get the same result. You can decide what's best for you.

Yep but if i will use compressor ..I have to use on all tracks? ..verse chorus prechorus..the same compressor with the same settings?..

Yup, that's a negative of what I said. Same thing for EQ as well. It depends on which is easier, a lot of automation, or lots of the same plugins

But which is better way?..I dont want to conlidate the clips to one and then to regret it..

Either drag/bounce/consolidate to one audio track, or set all the audio track outputs to bus 1-2, then set up an aux track to receive on bus 1+2.

Any effects put on the aux will affect all of your audio tracks.

'Consolidate is fine, just leave yourself a back path-- I.e, bounce down in a way that makes a new track. (In Sonar/Cake' speak that is 'bounce to track' - the source clip(s) remain, rather than 'bounce to clips - clips overwritten)

Can you 'archive unused tracks in Prostools? --better than just muting'them and having them still suck up processor bandwidth.

--Or, use a sub-group (sub-bus), all the tracks building that vocal' (or whatever) under one control, one eq, one compressor..

So from the side of cpu will be ok..right?..if i make them inactive and dont delete the other tracks on pro tools..
I think the way with busses is the best way..

That'd be my take on it (that's the effect it ought to have..
'Load a project up with lots of copies of tracks with a bunch of processing on them. Compare the cpu meter active vs archived'..

For comfort factor'.. If the test is on something important to you, do a save as' to a new project name. That's a way to keep a back path' -when ever you're making big changes or similar reasons.
