Home karaoke? Singing along with ...? One mic? Why a mixer at all?

Because its the only way I know how to add reverb/delay/EQ. Were u thinking of an audio interface?

To be fair, if its for home karaoke, why would you need to worry about things like EQ? Reverb I can see, but EQ?
And you can get stand-alone vocal processors that would do what you are looking for much better.

AFAIK (never done karaoke!) the mic needs to be panned centrally to fill in for the electronically suppressed original vocal?
You don't get pan pots on interfaces. You could, I suppose, pan in software but that would mean a low latency system and they are not cheap. A mixer, which of course will have pan, EQ and in the line FX if you get the right one would, in this particular instance, seem to be the best option.
Oh! And to simply answer the question at the top of the thread? Allen & Heath ZED10 FX usb!

I still don't get the need for a USB mixer. Explanation, please - home karaoke = singing along with prerecorded tracks. Are you trying to record the singing to tracks on a computer and the backing tracks are on the computer? If so, then an interface would be the best solution, you add reverb, EQ in your DAW.
If you are not recording, just singing, use a karoake machine! This one will even record onto an SD card.

I'm going to have to agree with the others, any mixer over $150 for just karaoke is plain overkill. That is, unless you plan on recording a band or something as well. If that's the case you would need a pretty beefy mixer to achieve quality results anyway as the budget mixers are pretty hit or miss.
Your best bet would be karoke machine and it should work wonders by providing exactly what you need, but also save a lot of pennies too. Not to mention, the newer ones have built in record to external media features!

I sold the voicelive play...it sounded too "electronic"...it lacks human warmth and realism. By karaoke, yes, sing along with pre-recorded track...instrumental and the lyrics follow the song.
