This is my mix. I'd love to hear your opinions

Thanks Cla, yes I love Harrison Mixbus; I will use it often, but not on everything
My main DAW is StudioOne V2, that's great for every kind of job: tracking, composing, editing, remixing, mixing etc.
I bought HM a couple of month ago, so not too much experience on that, but I can say that it works very well on acoustic or real instruments music and live like this one, it has a smooth sound as I like and it has a different sound separation mostly in the bass freq area, I love channels with eq, compression and busses sends on board (I had my first steps on a Soundcraft 48ch analog console, so this interface is quite familiar to me)
I use just the mixer section, absolutely not the edit window
I alway use S1 to import stems, to editing as split, double tracks, Melodyne jobs when required, I always use S1 mixer to organize tracks (is so flexible), I insert plugins needed to prepare the tracks with surgical eq, phase corrections, gate or expander or even special fx
Only when every single tracks is cleaned and sounds without issues, I put all single faders on 0dB and I route every channels or bus to HM
So I use the Hmixbus EQ&comp just to make the mix, to glue and find the right balance&pan
I have two monitors, the laptop one for S1, the external for HM mixer, I work with the two daws at the same time
I love this routing capabilitiy (thanks to JackRouting and Patchage)
With samples based mix I didn't find a real vantage so I remain just on S1
I listened to yours, a well done creative mix, I love the guitar phaser on 2.48, a nice spot color you could use a little more
Hmmm, I haven't heard of JackRouting and Patchage. I'm going to have to look into that. From the looks of it, though, it's not for Windows? Maybe it is; I'll just have to look more into it. But yessss, I'm a S1 head, as well. It's one of the best things -- maybe even the best thing -- that could have ever happened to my musical life (in the context of production, engineering, and creation, of course). And that double-DAW juxtaposition sounds cool as hell. And that JackRouting thing -- does it have some sort of server/computer-linking capacity, so that CPU/RAM resources can be shared?
Thanks for the comments on my entry. Strangely, I was a bit apprehensive about "overdoing" anything for this entry, because I wasn't completely sure if I understood the parameters of the contest's specified rules AND what Puremix was looking for.
Great mix
I'm just wondering - for whom that's all about?)Guitar sounds great
I am just wondering if you fellows have used the Waves SSL Channel Strip plugins and if so how or if they compare to the Mixbus? I only just found the Mixbus after reading your posts here, so I know very little about it and I am rather interested in exploring a bit further. I currently am using Studio 1 V2 and my mixing template is 32 channels each assigned with the SSL strip as my 'start point'. I use the SSL Master Buss compressor a bit too. The Mixbus looks like it would do a lot of the things my set up is doing and maybe more? Any chance of letting me know what your thoughts are? Also is there any compatibility issues or bugs in Windows 7 that you have come across. I run a Windows 7 machine i7 920 [First generation] with 16 gigs of ram.
It's ok!) You can use "Reply With Quote" button. Try it!)Those other posts were an attempt to get 10 posts in order to put my mix on this site. I was listening to other mixes and leaving posts pointing out the things I liked most about them.

I used Waves SSL Channel Strip, generally its good for everything, but i use it on drum buss, never on vocals, i like it because of its colour
I like the low end in your mix - it's nice & full.
Balance-wise, the vocals are nice & upfront & airy. However, I'm finding the balance[/URL] between the drums & guitar a little skewed. The drums are very "large", but the guitar suffers in relative "size" by comparison - it sounds quite "small", which tends to take some of the energy out of the song somewhat.
I like some of the little delay throws on the vocals - very subtle, but they do add some welcome movement & variety.
Speaking of ambiance, I think the mix would be served well with a little more generous use of ambiance - particularly the guitar would benefit from some room-style ambiance from it perhaps panned to the right channel of the mix in the interests of getting a realistic spatial image. The vocals also could do with some more "room" on them to give some spatial depth "behind" the vocalist. Using some pre-delay to keep the vocal "up front" will prevent things from sounding too "soaked" in reverb.
Nice work!
Thank you both for listening.I thought that what was said in this review to Synonym Music said it so well I would just say...I agree.. Good feedback!
I have both, Duende SSL channels/master Buss and Harrison Mixbus
are different things, you can't compare a plugin with a daw
But if I would have to choose between one or other (and I can't imagine why) I'ld choose SSL just because I use it in every kind of work
Did anybody by any chance had the official deadline to enter this contest as June 17th 2013 which would be tomorrow?
