Ok guys and gals, I started by posting my 3rd solo (yesterday on this forum) of 5 short drum (big kit) solos recorded 4TK with 4 mics. But I just realized after taking a re-listen, that when I recorded it (early 2000) that I adjusted mics accordingly after each short solo. You may notice around take 3 the mic placement difference. Ambient reverb (artificial) was mixed in I think when I mixed it down to CD by TKS 4 and 5, you will hear a big difference on them last 2 takes. Im posting all 5 solos here so you can see how things progressed....thanks for listening !!!:D

I listened to 1 and 5. Some very good drumming. 5 had a richer tone, more lows. But I liked the dryer aspect of 1.

Seemed to me they cymbals were getting short changed. Lots of snare and kick. Toms popped through too. But they cymbals seemed softer. They sounded nice. Just soft.

First of all thanks for listening thru them all :D and yeah Im glad you notice the "dryer" sound of actually 1-3 and then by 4-5 I had messed with a lil reverb. As for cymbals....hmmmmm don't even remember if I miked em !! I'll take a look at the very few notes that I wrote down on the tape box and see what it says.I do know that when I play back that mix of all 5 takes, that when I add a few DB around 8-12K it sounds bright enough then.I could always remix cause I have the master 4TK cassette tape and the same recorder(424) and all functioning properly;) THANKS FOR THE LISTENING AND COMMENTS !!!:thumbs up:
