Wonder if anyone here could help with a fairly basic question on line levels and settings while recording vocals to a DAW (Logic)... thankz ahead.
I'm running from a Chameleon Labs 7622 into an Apogee Ensemble interface. I've been advised by Apogee to use the Hi-Z (1/4" jack socket) front input to take signal from my 7622 into my interface.
Is this correct? Would it be better to use one of the channels 5-8 inputs at the back?
Then I've been advised, again by Apogee, to set the input on my Ensemble to +4db.
Problem is, I'm doing a lot of spoken word and the noise levels on the mic seem quite high.
(Mic is an SE5000)
