Okay, so I'm working on this mix and I'm reading Tame Impala's thread and I'm like 'okay so try something you haven't tried before' and what I came up with is this. Sure, you won't notice what I tried that I've never tried before. I'm Tame I'm Dobro.

Whatcha whatcha whatcha whatcha whatcha whatcha think?

You're right--I don't know whatcha whatcha whatcha did differently, but damn that was hot. Cool tune--expertly played, recorded and mixed!

Lol, you've posted this before. Can't pick out what you added- is it the sped up 'Jam On It' vocal?

Slapback on the vocal.

I'm getting used to a new bundle of plugins, so I'm remixing the whole album I've just almost mixed this year. Duh.

I really like this. One criticism I would have is that the mix could use some variety. There's a lot going on with the bg vox, splashes of wah-wah, little snippet vocal lines, etc. but there is a lot kind of going on in the same fashion through the whole song. Maybe some difference in instrumentation at some point through the song would keep the listener engaged. It's a really fun song through and very well recorded and performed.

It's pretty busy, yeah. I would have to axe something at some point, then - the tune's too short to be adding anything else. I'll think about that. Thanks for the idea.

Neat little song. I don't hear anything really odd or avant-garde with the mix or anything. I think the vocals are little too hot. Lip smacks and stuff stick out. Otherwise it's a pretty good mix. Very clean and precise if that's what you're going for.

I never know what I'm going for. I'm all about working with what I've got and hoping it turns out okay. Thanks for the listen. I thought maybe I was over the top with the echo on the vocal.

Wow! I really like this. Totally different to anything else on here. The vocal reminds me a little of The Nutty Boys - Whistle - A song I think you could possibly utilize as a point of reference for sounds with the mix, just to beef it up a bit.

The vocal maybe a slight touch too loud but I think it sits well and sounds great.

Top song though. Really enjoyed it! :thumbs up:

I didn't think so, and really, for me, I'll take too much delay over too much reverb on vocals any day. I like reverb on vocals, but if I can hear it, it's too much. I think delay treats it better.

I thought this was real good. Great vocal parts. Real good clarity. I liked the little quirks (chipmunk voice). Agree that the reverb worked well on this mix.

Guitars sound great.

I don't really have any true nits. I guess the closest I could come is I wasn't really digging the bass tone. Not horrible by any stretch. But it almost had the "super ball bounce" sound.

Okay, I've turned the vocal down a touch, backed off on the delay on the vocal ever so slightly, and put some distortion on the bass. That's it for that one - I've had enough. Thanks, you guys.

Hey, Fat Fleet - you said I'd posted this one before, but I did a search before I posted it this time and came up with nothing. Did you hear it on this site?

Sorry - a little late here, but I did check it out expecting something much more avant-garde!

I thought the vocal treatment was very subtle. The whole mix is very clean with great separation and clarity. Go furthur!
