Shure PG48 and Behringer BCA 2000

I've got Shure PG48 and BCA2000.
I'm working on WinXP.
Mic is connected to the Behringer via XLR.
Beh and mic(signal diode lights, when i'm speaking into mic), but i can't record.
How to setup interface and system to record?
 
The BCA2000 connects to a computer via USB. To help you need to provide the recording app that you're using. It might be faster to read the manual.
 
Yeah, I connected via USB to computer.
I tried to record on Audacity, maybe other program will be better?

Also i readed instruction but i still don't know how to setup this bastard.

I personally have not used Audacity and cannot help but the software that I'm familiar with has to be associated, via menu options in the software, with the attached soundcard. When you plug the USB cable connected to the soundcard into your computer you should see a dialog box pop up announcing that the computer 'sees' the soundcard. Is this happening at least?
 
Yea, also control panel.
I have ACID 6 Pro too.
And if i set in options BCA 2000 as audio device it still don't record.

I had (well, still have, in loft) a BCA2000. They are an excellent recording device and I was very sad when my third(!) one failed and I could not be A'ed to fix it, again.

Hoosyever, the BCA can be a "treasure" to setup driverwise... First check that you are connected to a usb 2.0 port, NOT a usb 1.1. NB most front ports on XP PCs will be 1.1.

You can check this by going into the BCA's control panel. If you cannot find the control panel the device has not installed properly and you will have to go further rounds with the driver install. I will help here but tis long winded and you might be ok.

So, if CP ok go to Audacity and click "Edit". At the bottom click "Preferences" and you will get a menu. All you need is "Audio I/O" You get a dropdown menu and you should be able to find the Berry in there to set it for play and record.

I was sad to lose my BCA2K and I think Behringer missed a trick not persevering with the design. Better reliability, better drivers and at least two more inputs. There has been nothing since with anything like the facilities at any price let alone 150quid.

Well, when I connected BCA to back USB port panel don't turns up, and XP don't see interface ;(

I see in control panel (when connected to front panel USB) USB driver version 2.1.0.1.

and in INFO it's

Also when i wanna start record in Audacity it don't starts to record, don't move, cursor freeze.

I think then that you have a problem with the computer, maybe caused by the BCA drivers. Run "Restore" on the PC back to a time before you installed the BCA software and Audacity. If you can, run a registry cleaner such as Ccleaner.

Re install Audacity, NOT the BCA! Go into Edit again and set the playback for the internal soundcard, will be AC97 or Realtech or similar. Set the record the same but for "stereo mix" or "mon mix" (you might have to go into "Sounds and Devices from Control Panel to do this) Click "File" then "new " in Audacity and then set the R/H meter to read levels. Find a radio station and have that playing, hit record on Aud' and the meters should move and the "timebar" show a waveform being written.

Now! The above is not easy to write up! I have done the best I can but I dare bet I have missed something out. This stuff takes time to get good at and you have to persevere. Also I know jack about YOUR computer or what version of XP you have (would not matter to me anyway. I am not a PC guru AT ALL!) .

N very bloody B: You will never get the BCA working untill you can get Audacity recording and playing back with the onboard soundcard (and once you do paradoxically you are going to disable it!)

If it's set to BCA as recording device cursor don't move, and it doesn't start to record.
If I set to Realtek it doesn't record anything.

If you set Audacity to MME drivers and Msoft sound mapper for in and out,click "file" "new" it MUST run and record baseline noise!

If you cannot do this get the PC to a technician.
