First to comment on a Greg tune!!! I'm usually 7 pages late. :D

Nice mix of a punk/metal feel. I can't comment on the mix because I'm at work with the worst little computer speakers in the world. Cool tune, though.

Sounds great to me. No mix issues here.

I liked the verses in particular...loved the compost line!

Guitars sound really good. The lead bits had kind of an angus young thing going on there. Drums were much more straight-forward than I expected, but I kind of like em like that. Very well done.
 
Nice! No nits on the mix. On crappy earbuds now. Question: How did you get that reverse vocal buildup thing on the upbeat to the "Hey Hey Hey" parts (among others)? Sounded good, man. Fun and simple - mission accomplished.
 
Good straight ahead tune, catchy on first listen.

Only mix comment is that it sounds pretty bass lite to me. The kick is great, I just think you could bring out the lows in the bass guitar in some places. It would actually add nice contrast to leave some parts as is, then bring in the deep bass in some spots.

Nice work, tight and in your face playing. Enjoyed it.

I'm listening on smallish headphones, so can't really hear the mix in detail, but you know what you're doing anyway... maybe, just maybe the higher bass notes disappear a little in the verse... or maybe I'm imagining it.

Yeah man. Sounds good in the studio. Not that I thought it wouldn't.

I think I'd like to hear a little more overheads in the drums. I hear the kik and snare fine, as well as the toms. But, I THINK the sizzle of the hats and cymbals is a little distant. Bare in mind, I know for a fact that I've lost half my hearing, and most of what's gone is my high end, so I may be way off.

Sounding good otherwise.

Thanks dude! Yup, I purposefully put no fills or frills on the drum track. Not a roll or flamadiddle in there anywhere. Just relentless boom-whack from beginning to end. That's how I wanted it, so that's how I did it. :D

Thanks bud. The reverse vocal is exactly that - a reverse vocal. I isolated one group of "hey" including all of the backing tracks and put em all through a group track with a big ol reverb tail on it, then bounced it out. Then I brought that render of the reverby "HEY!" back in, flipped it backwards, and pasted it wherever I wanted to put it. Pretty simple really. :)

Thanks dude. I can certainly beef up the bass. Since the bass and rhythm guitars are doing the exact same thing throughout the song, I tried to just make it all a mash of sound.

To the original poster- sorry I am new here, what is your part in this band? Do you play/write/record? Anyway, I can't comment much on the mix as it sounds cool to me. The music itself- I checked out some of your other tunes is straight punk as far as I can tell. Is that what you are going for?

Yes. I do it all. I'm a one-man-recording-band.

Yup. That's what I go for. I don't dabble or float around trying different things. I just do what I do. Thanks for checking it out.

I was a little surprised to hear the delay (and a little flange on the "leads"?) on the gits in this, just cuz I usually think of you as a straight-in no boxes kinda guy. But it all sounds pretty tight. Like the reverse-verb vox. Seems like you definitely have a system down for tracking and mixing that works great for what you do. :)

Thanks man. You're halfway right about me not liking stomp boxes and such. I do, and always have, liked things like flangers, phasers, delays, wahs, tremolos, etc. Time based effects are cool with me. What I don't like are "dirt" pedals. I typically don't like fuzzboxes, overdrives, distortion pedals, and stuff like that. I prefer to get my grit from the amp and how I play. A clean boost would be okay with me, but it has to be clean. Pure tube saturation is the sound I like. I got a new delay pedal that I run in the effects loop so I had a little fun with it on this one. The flanger was a plug-in. I don't have a flanger pedal yet.
 
I have a really good flanger pedal, but I've never been able to use it for recording just cuz with doubled guitars you really have to hit the lottery for those oscillations to match up. I usually end up using a plug-in and copying it to both tracks....

Whatever works. I typically only use a flanger on leads or accents. I don't think I've ever used one on a rhythm track. I think the trick with a flanger is to make it just barely noticeable and don't make the sweeps go too far in either direction. They can get really overpowering if you go too heavy with it. Just a hint of swoosh is all I look for.
 
Another solid mix. I like this song too.

Let's try to find some nits though, 'cause otherwise what's the point of feedback?

The "hey"s seem a little week. They sound like they should be big and gang-chorusy, but it's not as big as I'd think it should be.

The main vox sound like they have a bit more reverb than what matches the rest of the instruments.
