I looked at that,but I've got enough cheap pedals as it is.I've seen Rogue stuff used at the music store and it's always been bottom of the barrel.Between Berhinger and Danelectro you can get usable pedals for even cheaper than that.
 
I think it looks suspiciously like the Mod Tone series. I have a handful of the Mod Tone stuff, and they are actually quite good. But I paid more than $30 for them. That's a deal, and even just for recording I always have a Tupperware tub full of overdrives and distortions. 'Cause even a bad distortion pedal (Lord knows I have a few of those) can make for an interesting track. I never understood guys who have their one distortion or overdrive tone and that's it; every song, every solo. Boooooooooooring. Have fun with it, and make sure to record it at least once, just to justify the expense. ;)
 
My issue with pedals like this is that if they ever die, then they die. It's an issue with that micro board stuff (because who on earth wants to try to figure out what component is fucked up on a circuit board like that).

Where if you shell for something like the pedal below it's not that micro stuff and it can almost alway be fixed.

That and you can get used DS-1 pedals all day for $20 which I'm sure sound better that the pedal in question.

Although I do have a MXR pedal that is this type of thing, but it was cheap enough that if it ever kicks the bucket I won't cry over it. :guitar:
 
My first wah and dist. Pedals back in 06 were rogue. The pair was like 50 bucks. The distortion pedal was a plastic ds1 style knock off. I had a lot of drop out problems :(

I agree with that,I must have at least a half dozen OD/distortion pedals,but damned if I don't want a few more.:D

I've built my collection buying used or discounted pedals, and I've only run into a few pedals over the years that I considered "unusable".

That has to be the most common pedal in existance,and yes $20 is what I paid for mine.
 
I never worry about SMT pedals. I used to be a snob like that, but then I started going after tones that weren't always a 'brown sound', and I use more of 'those kinds of pedals' now. If they die, I hope to have made at least $30 (or whatever I paid) worth of recordings with them. They're fun, and aren't a typical tone that could be anybody playing. I think that's one reason guys like Dan Auerbach stand out, and not just for some neat writing. Even though he uses basic Muff or Fuzz Face pedals, you can't call his tones same-old-same-old.
The beauty of the $20 DS-1 or SD-1 is that you can mod the heck out of them if you're so inclined, so have two or three isn't a waste, either. So now your collection grows even more. Probably the most versatile SMT fuzz I have is the new Germanium[SUP]4[/SUP] Muff. But that's cheating; it's two pedals in one.
Anyway, try them all, buy them all, and just flip the ones you really don't like. When your pedal collection gets this big; Unbelievable Stompbox Effects Pedal Collection. Part One - YouTube, you are almost there. :D
