I've owned a pair of of Rokit 8s but I'm now involved in a project that requires more accurate bass response.

The Yamahas are a bit more money, but can anyone speak to which they own and why? (or some third monitor besides these)

thanks

I love the HS80s, by far my favorite monitors I've gotten to use in a studio. Definitely worth the money IMO, I'm saving up to get some for my home use, much more accurate low end in comparison to the rokits.

And I have to ask, the room does have a lot to do with bass response and what you are hearing, do you have bass traps up in the mixing room?? If not, get/build some before spending more money on monitors, you'll be amazed at the difference in your room.

No, not really. I'm in a basement corner Cement walls (7ft x 16ft) , however I have open ceiling with floor joists exposed so I was planning on stuffing them with insulation, and I have a bookcase on one wall, and the back wall is a CD shelf system with cubby-holes much like an acoustic trap.

The room is what it is. No doubt it could be improved on, but... I've seen much worse in SoundOnSound's Room rescue segments.

But I'll try the improvements first and see what happens.

thanks
