Hi guys,
I saw this video from one of my fav indi rappers, DFD
youtube.com/watch?v=Xn00FavrWB4&
and this and a few other videos inspired me to get back to recording.... (was my hobby back in HS/College)..
So after researching , I just got my blue yeti usb microphone, and set me up w/ Adobe Audition 3.. and no pop filter for now (gona go out and buy one).. this is pretty much my setup . and i do recording in my room.
I used to just contribute vocals to my crew back then, so im not really good at the technicalitlies of producing/mixing/recording ... but this time i dont wana have to rely upon others or a studio just to drop some random cuts.. and w/ near studio quality achievable in one's home nowadays, im really excited... but so im definitely a noob..
Anyway i did a few recordings, and though i can honestly say the Blue Yeti sounds much better than my old labtec PC microphone, it wasnt what i expected.. and i wanted to know HOW to make my recordings sound CRISP and sooo good quality like the one on DFD's video..
ofcourse right now im just playing w/ the gains and , well, my vocals are pretty much RAW as i really dont know how to do this.. im gona read up on some books but for now i just wanted
1) to know if it was possible to achieve near quality and clarity as the DFD video w/ the Yeti mic and Audition 3?
2) any quick tips and settings for me that i can try?
Really hope you guys can help a noob out real quick.. just so eager to record a good draft..
THanks guys
