Suggestions Reqiured!

I will be going to Beijing, China next week and I will be having roughly 200$ for my music passion.

If you guys remember, I had Behringer USB Audio Interface and a BIG PMX mixer which both I had sold since they were creating alot of noise during the recording.

Now I am left with my mic only i.e Behringer B1.

I need suggestions for what to buy to start my clean recordings. I have been reading about these 2 interfaces, please let me know If they are worth it.

Lexicon Alpha USB
Tascam US100
 
asking which interface without knowing if you are using MAC or PC is hard to answer?

both of those are not good........alpha has no phantom power, tascam is only 16 bit

using a mac i recommend Mackie Black jack is a huge improvement. It works with PC too but has issues with some PC's
 
I don't think that you'll find any savings purchasing while your in china.
If I remember right there was a thread started about this same idea yet with microphones and I believe that was what it boiled down to - that your better off purchasing at home over the net from a repetitive dealer.
 
If you've already started and you've already had the entry level interface, It might be worth just saving up a bit and doing a 'proper' upgrade farther down the path.

The difference between $100 and $200 interfaces is likely to be negligible but the difference between $100 and $800 will be noticeable.
Those numbers are just for arguments sake.
