i wonder...
if you can get that real "Recto" sound with el84's....

i would have thought 6v6's would be a better choice, but it's not like r. smith hasn't gone there already....

i have some groovetube substitubes, that i plug into my mark2b every once in a while, el84's make the boogie sound exactly like a cross between a top boost ac30 and the boogie......!
LOL

so, i just don't see how el84's can do the trick.....

anxiously waiting to actually hear one.

Sounded pretty good for most styles except the hard rock/metal. Which is odd because that is typically the type of sound I associate the Rectifier with.

I thought so, too. that could why I didn't care for the sound of the amp

Those video clips sound like crap.

I agree, but I hear promise in them. A lot of those clips sounded like they were dialed in by the typical idiot guitar player (look at the settings for the pushed rock clip, he has the mids on zero. That's grounds for instant dismissal that he is a fucking retard).

Same for me, useless as you can't do with this one what the Recto are great for : High gain modern sound...

Haven't heard one yet but sohould not be able to do the job Rectifiers are great to : High gain modern sound.
So, looks pretty useless to me

Sorry guys you're right : Haven't heard one and already having opinion on it is not really serious. I'll try to find one to try and will come back. This was just an opinion based on what cloud be expected based on the specs (power stage specially).

I'm basing my judgement on the videos. I have a pretty good feeling this amp will sound amazing... but not like a 100watt DR does.

This amp needs to come out so I can start hearing user demos damn it.
