I have (once again) taken a leave of absence from this place regrettably.
You see, the computer I recoded on broke and I was also broke at the time.
I got a new computer recently so for my test recording, I chose my favorite song from Jesus Christ Superstar, Could We Start Again Please. It's just a one-take live 'performance' I recorded sitting at my keyboard but I was happy enough with the way it turned out (and guilty enough for neglecting this board) to post it here. I hope you guys dig it!

Listen Here: Could We Start Again Please

Seems decent. I'm not noticing any glaring errors in the mix. There's a fair amount of ambient vocal noise (breaths, minor sibilance, etc.) But it's not a huge deal.

I haven't actually seen JCS*, so the only thing I have to compare this to is Queensryche's cover of "Heaven on their Minds."

*I started watching it on hulu, but got bored 5 minutes in.

I wasn't under the impression that 'breaths' were an issue. I usually edit them out but I hear many people that don't.
I couldn't even find Jesus Christ Superstar on Hulu. They made two. One in '79 or something like that and the other in the 2000s.
The original is the one I'm a fan of. What I've seen of the newest one, I hated. Thank you for taking a listen.

I think the one I started watching was the old one? It had that 70s video quality. And it was all a bunch of hippies in a bus in the desert.

Long story short, Queensryche > hippies.

:D

Yeah, that's how it began. It gets better after the hippie/bus scene. (At least in my opinion)

This was very big when I 1st started High School (1970).
The best recording I've heard was a non cast recording made in Australia in the early 70's. That's not a parochial view either - just fact regarding opinion.
Adam, lovely treatment of the song & a very good 1 take. Mutt Lang used to overdub breathing, lips smacks etc to make Def leppard et al sound more intimate & emtional. I don't have any probs with the sounds - besides slicing them out can be hazardous.
Good work.

This is wonderfully done. Love your vibrato, Adam.

That's certainly interesting. I've never heard of anybody doing that before.
Thanks for the listen. I'm glad you thought my 'work' was good.

Thank you very much Creep! My voice has gained a lot of strength (I think) here in the past few months. I don't know how, but I sure am enjoying it.

Sounds nice, I don't hear anything wrong. Great vocals!
Thank you very kindly!

Aww... Thank you!
