Functionally obsessed.
Hey tape fiends, I'm trying to find 1/2" RMGI SM468 in pancakes. It's hard enough to find 1/2" SM468 as it is, so does anyone know where I can find it on a hub???

Thanks!

Well trying RMGI directly might be productive.

RMGI's SM468 spec sheet says they don't offer 1/2" 468 in pancake, but I could swear I recently saw it on offer somewhere. I could be wrong. I emailed RMGI's US address and I'll see what they have to say.

I finally stretched my cache of BASF PEM468 to its usable limit and dang it, I just want to reuse the flanges + boxes...

The Tape Project was using 468 from Pancakes. But that may have changed. If you need pancakes I can swear by LPR-35. The 900 1.5 mill it's based on should be outstanding if you need 1.5 mill.

I believe the Tape Project guys were more into the 1/4" 468 rather than 1/2".....?

I tried a reel of the LPR-35...though I guess it depends how hard you are hitting it, since it's only 1mil and you have to consider print-through, Also...I was under the impression it's the same sound/chemistry as 911 (not 900)...?...just a 1/2mil thinner.
Man...about 2-3 years ago, I think it was Tapeworks/Texas...was practically begging me to take a few cases of the 1/2" LPR-35...but I had just purchased some case of 911 and 468 off them, so I was kind all full up.
20-20 hindsight...I probably should have just bought the LPR-35, and I could have made a killing on eBay today if I didn't want to keep it!
Oh well... :(

I've got a bunch of EMTEC 911 and 468 in 1/2"....but you better bring a gun!!! :D

Is LPR35 equivalent to UD 35?

Never mind. I found out this is a good replacement for UD-XL 35. I also picked up four new 1800' reels at a unit cost of $26.59. Plenty more where they came from too. :D

Tell me about it! All that sugary crap they pile on them is just too much first thing in the morning.

They'd be awesome after a night of drinking... at that same hour when suddenly everything on the Denny's menu looks insanely delicious ;)

I usually go straight for the eggs and fatty pork. The all-night breakfast buffet at Kettle is great after a night of drinking!

Back during band days, a late night breakfast stop after a gig was a tradition. We would always hit the 24-hour dinners...the band, roadies, and assorted girlfriends & groupies. Something about eating eggs, French Toast and pancakes at 3:00AM that made it all taste better than at 9:00AM. :D

May the weed had something to do with it...ya think? ;)

Turns out the regional sales rep for my area, Don Morris, is a classmate of mine. I called him about this exact question some months ago and he said you should be able to call up any dealer and tell them you want it and they should take the order and then have it shipped direct to you from RMGI USA. It probably won't be something the dealers stock or show on a website. I hope that helps.

Cheers,

Otto
