So first off, I just want to let you know that I had no idea which form to post this one, so I thought why not here, being that I know nothing about fuses and stuff :D.

I'll cut to the chase though. I have recently acquired a sweet subwoofer (for free might I add), and it is all awesome and what not, except for that it didnt have a fuse. So I ordered some off amazon (T2A 250v), but they won't fit. They are too loose, and I guess there is not a solid connection between the connectors on either side. I will post pictures in a short while to help further explain, but I just wanted to know if I need some sort of adapter or something to make them fit.

Thanks! Drew

Yes originally they were about an inch or so ..... now they are about a half inch or so.
Smaller circumference as well!
So the new ones fit loosely in the old fuse holder.

I was gona say or missing a spring. But the spring would normally be held behind the tail piece most likely (not where it would fall out I guess.

..And they didn't change the friken number?
Gee thanks. (..not you :D

Where did you get the spec for the fuse?

250v doesn't sound right.

How about posting the make and model of the sub?

Well when I got it, there was a little spring inside, but when I put the new fuse in, it still didn't work, so I figured it was just a random spring (I take it I was wrong). It says on the back though, 2TA 250V, and there's a triangle around it. The sub is an MTX Audio. No idea the model, it's 180w though.

Your 120 volt stuff is x amps at 250v. Next jump (maybe there are others secialties?) is 600volt (460 volt apps for example.
Has more to do with an insulation class I believe.

Well if this is truly your case you can still get the old size just look around locally at different places (possible radio shack)or look on line.

Alright cool! I found some 6mm x 32mm ones on amazon. I'd that what I'm looking for?

??? what ???

This must be a UK spec that's why it's 250v not 120, the 2a refers to it being a 2 amp and there will be another value stating the speed it will blow.

How many Americans does it take to change a fuse? No wonder no-one believes you muppets put a man on the moon
