Hello all my name is rob and i'm in a band called Decadent Chaos and just finished building my studio and its working great, however the only problem i am having is audio latency wich i am sure you guys get a lot of questions about on here but i hope that someone can help me. I have tried ASIO drivers like a lot of people say but all that happens is it throws a blue screen at me and restarts my computer. I'll list what i am running and using and then hopefully someone can help me out:)

facrory Realtek HD audio sound card,
Guitar Tracks Pro 4
Windows 7

You need to get to the bottom of the bluescreens too. Try a registry cleaner and update your drivers.

Probably the most useful thing about a real audio interface is hardware monitoring. That allows you to monitor inputs with little to no latency by shortening the monitoring path. Instead of going into your sound card, through your recording software, written to and read from the hard drive plus buffers and any other stops along the way back to the sound card, it just goes into your interface and right back out to your ears.

^^^ This ^^^

Get a good interface and monitor off that - latency becomes a non-issue...
