Hi. I would appreciate it if you'd listen to this. It's kind of the same thing over and over again, but it is my first recording, and I just wanted to try something simple. Sorry if it's boring. I'm thirteen---please go easy. My dad helped me get started a little.

JackHammer

Not bad Not bad at all ..... Does your dad know about your long walks?

Who do you think inspired me to take these walks?
Just kidding.
Thank you so much for listening.

Is it all electronic music and no instruments?

And it could tend to be turned up a little bit.

No, I recorded two guitar tracks and a bass guitar track. I played the synthesizer part on a keyboard, and used EZ Drummer for the drums. I hope to get better with the drums with practice.
Thanks again for listening, and for the feedback.

sounds good - just work out a chord change in there. It's good for a test track to get the feel of things. If you just wrote one more part for the guitar you practically have a song.

Did it seem to soft to you? Do you think it needs to be turned up some?

I just realized that the file was for whatever reason converted to mono. I'll try and fix that.

I think it's in stereo. It sounds like it's in stereo, it just looks like it's in mono on that sound cloud thing.

moresound, I'm not sure I can make it much louder. I used a limiter, and it was reducing the peaks by like 3 or 4 db. It looks pretty fat in the wave editor. Does it really seem quiet to you?

Yeah but it could be the computer that I'm on. I'll check it later on an other one.

A compressor/limiter is a hard unit to master ~ with time you'll see where you'll need it only in spot tracks.
Did you put the limiter across the Master main tracks and not on individual ones?

I'm new to using a limiter, I just used it on the master tracks. But I did notice after your comment, comparing my track to some other bands that I listen to, it's not quite as loud. Would using a limiter on the individual tracks help that?

WafflePong, your dad should have taught you how to throw a baseball or something, because you suck at this.

Not too shabby, Waffle. If I had one nit, it'd be timing. Most of the time the instruments are together, but they drift from time to time... It distracts from the rest of the song. Interesting rhythm at the end! Keep it up!

This could do with a lot of separation and space. But if you stick with it the mixing techniques will come soon enough... songwriting first.
