Hello,
I have tried over the weekend to get a RØDE NT1-A to get picked up on my Boss Br1600
it looks to me that I need phantom power on the mic for it to work.
But I understand that every one of the 8 channels on the BR1600 has phantom power per channel. Is there a setting that I need to switch on?

I am irritated as you can imagine that this expensive mic doesn't plug and play, like my SHURE mic does.

Please help

Hi,

I have the br1600 but haven't used phantom power yet.
I believe you have to turn it on manually.
I did a quick search and found that you have to switch it on by doing the following:

Click 'utility' in the top right.
Use the scroll to highlight 'system' on the screen.
Once in there, highlight phantom power and use the scroll to turn it on.

That should do it.
I think the COSM effects will be turned on automatically but you can turn this off by hitting the COSM button to turn the light off.

Hope that works!

Hey liezlnel... I don't want to rag on you, but did you even bother to RTFM?

In particular the section entitled "Using condenser microphones (Phantom Power)" on page 264 which explains everything you need to know.

Far quicker to use the available resources first than hang around here hoping someone will answer your question...
