I can't even spell "ezotorick", let alone create some. :eek:

The first lines of the song are:

"Just spilling my mind, thinking out loud
It's only a song so don't you take it so hard".

I think that pretty much tells you not to expect anything epic. :D
 
I loved the way the vocals sounds. Both lead and harmony. Good harmonies. Liked the guitars - great sound. Liked the way stuff moved across the stereo spread like around 2:30. Done well but not over-done.

To me I thought the kick was quite a bit too loud. I also thought the bass was a little uneven. Notes at certain frequencies (like the root note) jump out a little. Real cool bass part.

I'm noticing a guitar skip at :13 right before the vocal comes in for the first time. Bad punch maybe?

Everything is a nit-pick. Great job.

Hey 3M. Thanx a lot.

Yes, my monitoring situation is really affecting my mixing abilities here. But I'm glad you said you find the kik too loud now, because it sure sounds too loud to me also. I'm also wondering how much reverb I need on my snare before someone says it's too wet, because I hear a ton of reverb on my drums, though a couple of people said they find the drums dry. :eek:

You noticed that edit. It isn't a punch, but I looped the guitar intro when I changed the arrangement to get the vocals to start on that part....good ears!
 
nice one...crystal clear...I cant hear anything wrong with the mix, all sounded right levels to me, nice tone on the guitars, drums super clear, strong bass and good vocals..

no nits...silly lyrics but they work and i get the hidden message ;)


good job all round...and probably another track that ensures my guitar stuff never gets posted in here :D

Hi Rami,

Great tune, and the mix sounds good to me, although something is a little weird to my ears in the high-mids maybe???...but then again, what do I know :) I love the harmonies and the guitar work, especially toward the end of the song, starting with the raunchy sounding solo...loved that!

Sounds really good to me.

my only nit is that the bass sounds a bit over powering at times, mostly at the time when its playing the 8's in the "chorus/bridge" part.
perhaps some compression eq could fix it.

But they're not you just wrote it like that
Then I was listening late at night and thought the band is not quite right
But they are, they just play it like that

It doesn't really matter what chords you play what words you say or time of day it is
Cause it's only A Song

Cool arrangement. Tight kick sound. It fits well with the bass. That would be my favorite thing. It is tough to get it like that. By the way, I have been listening to your Amos Moses cover. Really good. I have plans of recording our version of the song and posting as we are all Jerry Reed fans. Would be cool to have multiple perspectives up here.

I really do like this song specifically though.

I'm hearing the latest mix and there's enough bass .... the mix sounds good to me, the vox sounds really good .... at this point I think it comes down to personal preferences.
