Planning on picking up a new audio interface in the next couple days. Been eyeing the Lexicon I-Onix 2x2, although I just stumbled across the new Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1 which also looks like a solid unit. Currently running Windows 7 with Ableton as my main DAW. Both units have some good bundles too and the price is the same. There are so many choices for an interface nowadays, tough to make a choice. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks guys, you put me right back to square one haha

Ended up going with Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1, as I love most of their software, but it turns out to be shit with Windows 7 even with all current drivers, I get dropouts in sound at least once an hour plus crackles in audio about the same, regardless of what I'm doing. Heard even worse things about the Lexicon after some digging. So just looking for any advice, my needs are for a 2x2, with stereo inputs, MIDI would be nice but not essential, at this point Win 7 reliability is the main factor! Maybe under 300 bucks...Thanks for all input : )

Get the Mackie Blackjack Onyx and all your wildest dreams will come true.

Ok.re:AK1, have you submitted a tech support ticket with NI ?

Are the dropouts occuring even within your DAW when you are disconnected from the net with and the wireless switched off ?

AK1 - retailed at $500 plus a few years back, now on sale on site for $220 ? Ebay has it new for $199 ( but make sure you email them on the vouchers they are offering ).

Harmony Cent says bad things about the lexicon verb plugin.

Anyways....Epicverb is the best there is, and its free :D

I searched for the price since there was a 2nd hand unit on sale nearby. The local DJ shop wants 180 euro, lowest on the net was 149...
