waveform preview plugin?

anyone know of any sort of plugin that can give a live preview of a waveform in real time of a channel? mostly to be used on the master fader to find spikes and levels and whatnot... or to monitor an incoming signal with a waveform.... or am i just imagining some dream plugin?

there has to be one that exists somewhere...

Well I could be misunderstanding, but doesn't your DAW show the waveform as you record? Or are you looking for something more like a stationary visual meter... because there's tons of those.

no, one that could be like a plugin to show a live waveform of your master channel... i know that every daw shows tracks as waveforms... anyone understand what i'm trying to get at? lol

Hi

A mastering application like Ozone will display information pertinent to the function being performed and from memory still shows the live stream when the processes are deactivated.

I am pretty sure no plugin* will display a real time wav as that is a write function.


So, just zoom and record you master channel and watch the wav making magic.. Lol.


Why not just watch the meters ?


EDIT: *Geez I am a spazzo. I have the very software that displays real time wav analysis, I just didnt have the check boxes ticked. It's a mastering app called Maximus. Was recently $50 in a promo, but now back up to full price. Really nice multi band compression and stereo shaping btw.
