Well the vocal melody is the same in both the verses, but they just work so much better with the heavier guitar part in the 2nd verse. Actually after a few listens I'm getting used to it now but my initial reaction was that the guitar and vocal were strangers to one another initially

The guitars are way too midrangey and loud. They hog up the entire midrange of the mix. This doesn't sound like a Joey mix. I suspect this Chris dude mixed it or he twisted your arm a little. I don't think this is one of your better vocal performances. Your vocals are ALWAYS pretty freaking awesome, but these miss the mark just a little. Maybe like you weren't really into it all the way. :o

I totally agree with you, Greg. And no, it isn't a Joey mix......;):D
The vocals were done too hastily (some time last year....yeah, that's how long Chris needed to mix it, but he was busy....:p) But it's nothing we can't fix, so back to the mixing board.....

Everything sounding okay in the intro. I'm liking the song so far. Listen to that chorus!!!!!! I'm typing as I'm listening, I typed the "I'm liking the song so far" then BOOM!!!!!!!! I WAS LIKE :eek: Super big sounding mix. Really diggin it. Be careful though, it's on the edge of crowdedness. How do you record the drums? Are they samples? Some pretty high notes in the vocals. Sorry if this comment is kind of scattered around. Good job.

Thanx Squibble!
Chris used EZ Drummer on this one and I think he kind of layered the snare with another sample in Battery 2. Yeah, the crowdedness are probably the mids in the guitars which are boosted to Hell and back....! The secret to the high notes is a chick squeezing your balls tight when you sing.....:eek::D
Wishfull thinking......:spank::D

not much to say, far better than i have already got their nits out (get your nits out for the boys! get your nits out for the boys!)

overall I think its a very good tune, there are a swathe of influences coming from all sides which makes this totally worth finishing after re-doing any small parts...just when i thought i was getting zep it went into soundgarten, just when i thought i was getting 80's hair it went 90's rock

but its your own fault...you set your standards so high here whats ones mans great accomplishment is your re-track :o

I liked the guitars ftr, not a great guitar man but I liked the tone and thought the playing was pretty spot on

Thanx for the nice thoughts, Keith.;)
I just feel I should have sung it better, some notes are really shaky to me.
And I won't rest until they're right.

Great tune! I have to agree with what has already been said but geez, Joey... freakin' INCREDIBLE voice!

New avatar ?!?!?

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I forgot this was a Joeym post !!!!

:eek::eek::eek:

Has Greg busted you about it yet?!?!?!

:eek::eek::eek:

:spank::laughings:

The recording sounds big and very pro. I would like the vox louder but for this genre thats usually the level they're at. I thought I heard notes(melody) in the second voice that dont intonate with the key, but its hard to tell and I'm not that quick on theory. You do have a great voice Joe, powerful with a unique tone.

Thanx man!
Yeah there are some harmonies which aren't sounding quite right, I'll be fixing those. Theory ...?:eek: I can't read a single note!:o
