Hey everyone,I just got my interface yesterday and everything hooked up nicely.I've downloaded reaper to record on but I don't know how to record with my condenser mic. Can't seem to get any sound on the track, any help would be greatly appriciated

and make sure you use line6's asio drivers and not asio4all

I am using the asio drivers not the asio4all drivers but I can't get the clip level needles to move when i'm playing as if there's no signal going to it.I can record fine using pod farm but nothing happens when I use the condenser mic.It is set-up as the recording device in reaper

can you record using a dynamic mic? If so, there is a button for phantom power on the front of the interface that you might need to press. I think a little red LED comes on when it's activated.

I got it to work,I didn't have the setting right in the pod farm.I had to go into the heading mixer and preferences to do a little tweeking. Now that i'm recording my reaper is recording into a wave file but I want to convert it into mp3 so I can post it on the Randall forum does anyone know how to do that?

Not sure if you can do it in reaper but if you have itunes you can do it there.

You have to change your settings for importing songs to mp3, then open up a wav file in itunes, right click it and hit convert to mp3.

itunes can convert to all sorts of formats the exact same way.

Do you think you could give me a play by play on that?I downloaded itunes and can't figure it out.I'm not very good at these things

I don't know reaper but you'll have to figure out how to export the mix to a wave file. Or maybe it sounds like you allready have.

Once you do that right click the wave file in windows explorer and click "Open With", Select iTunes off the list. The song should start playing in iTunes.

Now I don't have iTunes on this computer so I can't give you an exact step by step. Hit the Edit menu and select "preferences". Click the advanced tab and click on import settings. On that window you can change it to Mp3 and set the bit rate.

Here's a link that shows you how on a mac, it should be similar.

Once you've changed the import settings you should be able to right click the song in iTunes and then select "Convert to MP3" on the menu.

When I record a song each track is a wave file but the song as a whole is a .RPP file.I don't know what a .RPP file is and nothing I do including itunes will convert it into a mp3 file. Can anyone help me with this,I'm getting so pissed I can't even think straight, nothing seems to work

Thanks I got it to work, guess what?It wasn't the program it was me...go figure. Thanks for all your help the info you gave was vital and greatly appriciated. Now I just got to figure out how to set reaper to load the files where I want them.I'm going to start by slowly reading the manual

First I couldn't get the mic part to work.It was because on POD Farm( I got it with the interface)I had to go into the mixer part and click +18 db and the "mute mains for mic record" button to get the mic to work.Than I could record using the mic,but reaper was recording each track in wave files putting the song as a whole in a .RPP file.In order to switch it into mp3 I had to load a certain lame file and put it into the reaper file,I believe the proper file is listed on this thread.Once the song was recorded I had to go onto reaper "files" and click the render button and it would load the song onto a folder of my choosing. Then wham bamb thankya mam it was all done. Here's a sample of what I recorded

I did this post because everyone was so helpful to me I thought I would let someone else know what worked for me incase they were having the same problem. Thanks again for your help
