Hello, i am having a problem with my Behringer (big surprise right?) 1202fx. Anyhoo, there is nowhere else to go for Behringer as far as forums go and after surfing this site for hours already, i wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Well, to the problem. I have the Behringer 1202fx, the problem i'm having is getting good sound from it. Now this has nothing to do with recording (even though i do realize that this website is called 'homerecording.com'). However, when i use this mixer for recording i go through my Presonus Firestudio project (Gem!) and have no problems. BTW, i use the mixer and the Presonus because of the mixer's effects (crappy but sometimes useful). But when i try to plug this mixer into a speaker in my garage for practice, i get a low muffled sound. that's mainly what i need it for. to use for my practice and small gigs. i max out the volumes on the mixer and the sound still sucks. it's distorted and doesn't go very loud. i don't know if there is something i'm plugging in wrong or what. I have a huge P.A speaker and the speaker isn't the problem. I have a friend's p.a. that plays fine through that speaker. anyways, where am i going wrong?!?!?! i plug in the main out L (cause that's usually for mono). I tried plugging in the CTRL and everything else but nothing. Anyways, sorry for this novel (check your local bookstore for this on paperback!) but great thanks to anyone who can help me out.
Using:
Mxl and Samson mics, XLR cable and 1/4 cable from mixer to speaker (i tried other speakers and even an amp with same result)
