im guna stick this in here, cause i dont think the studio building forums gets enought views for a quick reply, ok im buying some foam sound absorbers and diffussers because ive got a small mixing room and standing waves are bad as we all know

buut the one thing i dont know about is the bottle of adhesive that comes with many packs of foam, either from auralex or universal acoustics they all sell the adhesive with a pack of foam diffusers absorbers traps etc,

but im only going to be int this room for another year, if i use this adhesive hang up my foam, is is stuck for ever? will i damage the absorbers by trying to take them down and move to a different mixing room? basically i want to be able to stick them up for about a year then when i moving take them with me,, as i havent got the money to be treating every room i work in

thanks
Niall

For a quick fix and temp hanging ~ use double sided tape to hold them in position for now ....even if that means having to pick up the occasional fallen one and put it back up.
Then you'll have them for your next room that you can hang properly.

thats a good idea moresound thanks , does that mean that the adhesive is permanant then, and id potentially damage the foam by trying to remove them if i used it?

Yes nailldoran, that and the danger of having to fix the walls that you have it on.
You could end up not getting you renter deposit back! if that is a factor.

:laughings: thanks you again moresound, been a great help dude, no renters deposit is not a factor right now but it wil be in my next room :( looks like a lot of sticky tape for the next few years :laughings:

Great hope it works out for ya.....you will need to go to like a home depot of equivalent to get industrial grade and not the moms little helper type of tape.

T-Pins -- Least damage by far.

Foam -- Least effective also... Standing broadband traps in the corners requires no tape or pins...

T-pins that looks like a very good solution thanks to both you guys, this has been the whole thing kinda preventing me from treating my room, although ive got a few good ideas now,:)
