Best microphone for certain price-range

Hi everyone,

Which microphone do you think it can fit best for record acoustic guitar on a price range of $500 - $100?

And maybe what other kind of "racks" do you recommend.

I heard that the pair of NT5s does a good job, but I'm hearing opinions.

Maybe I'm a newbie but LDC MIC? or SDC MIC?
 
LDC...Large Diameter Condenser
SDC...Small Diameter Condenser
Condensers need phantom power, btw...

I like a pair of SDC's on my acoustic and a LDC for vox but I've also used a Shure 57 (dynamic) for vox for a grittier sound.
Depends on what yer after. ;)

(edit.....yeah...diaphragm...not diameter....)

Assuming you meant $500 to $1000, I'd suggest you buy a pair of KSM141s.

If you meant $100 to $500, oh well . . .
 
BLUE mics are incredible. The cheapest one that's any good is the Bluebird.
$300 new maybe $200 used.
Make sure you have a decent preamp.
