I have recently come across some old 4 track recordings of my band from many years ago and was wondering if there is a way to get these recordings onto my computer. I am not that computer savy so any direction would be greatly appreciated

You will need to have the MT50 connected to an interface that will change your analog music into a digital signal.

Example: connect your 4 MT50 outputs to a mixer that has USB out. Connect USB to computer.

What are you looking to do? Remix them and try and get a better mix? If so then do as mentioned. If you're just looking to take a final mix and burn it to disc or make an mp3 you could get away with just going into the line in jack and use something free like reaper or audacity.

This would be using the built in soundcard which isn't the greatest for recording and the quality may suffer but it depends on your goals.I used to line in and mix down to the microsoft sound recorder just so i could burn my songs to disc. You're still better off though to get an interface.

Well first off .....Do you have an old 4 track player to play these old 4 track recordings?
If not your going to have to send these old 4 track recording to someone who has an old 4 track player and the ability to transfer them to the medium that you prefer on your old computer.;)

Maybe someone here at HR can help you to do that process.
But you'll have better luck if you go to the analog forum, that is located a little further down the main page, heading -"Home Recording"> then 7th forum down from the top Analog Only.
