Hey I want to record 1 or 2 condenser mics on my laptop, which doesn't have the greatest onboard sound card. So, I was thinking about the E-MU 0404 USB interface.

Any comments? I'm running Windows 7 32-bit.

I've been using an E-Mu 0404 and it sounds great. It was well worth it. The only problem I had was that the left microphone plug only recorded into the left channel and the right plug, right channel. If that doesn't bother you, then I say go for it!

Isn't this a software issue? What recording software are you using DominEl?
You should be able to send a mono input to a stereo track...

Right, Be sure you are creating Mono tracks for your Mono inputs and not Stereo tracks.

For the OP, If you want to use condensor mics, you'll need phantom power which your onboard soundcard does not provide, so you will need some kind of interface with built in mic pre's or standalone mic pre's.

The EMU 0404 USB will give you what you need.
