Line 6 is going to turn the mic world upside down

Well...he ain't showing me anything...so what ballpark is he in???

haha ..... quite a bit actually. Several albums back in the 'hair' days ...... songs on a hit movie's soundtrack ....... some vids on MTV ..... that sort of thing.
Of course he's washed up now but still ..............

I don't run in those circles... :) ...but every transsexual I've ever seen on live TV or in a movie is pretty easy to spot after just a few minutes of watching their mannerisms and listening to their speech. It’s really not that easy to hide mother nature’s work, no matter how good the surgeon. ;)
Look at Joan Rivers!!! :D

Of course...when you're in a bar at 2:00AM after you've put away the better part of a quart of booze....
...I'm sure even a pig with lipstick would blend in and be appealing. :laughings:

I don't know what circles you run in then. Probably 80% of the bands out there have at least one same sex type person in it. Some openly, some not. Do you not record any bands? Never seen any? Have no interest in any? Bands that is. What do you record then? Birds? Rain? Maybe a line 6 isn't for you then.

I'm curious about it. Although I don't hold out much hope for it as a product. Too many features for not technically doing anything more than any other product. i.e. Picks up sound and converts it to a signal that can be recorded. Where's the I'll buy that for dollar emoticon.

You came in and expressed your opinion on modeling and then went off on guitar modeling and how you can't imagine recording or playing live with modeling gear. I gave you the is it live or is it memorex analogy which you blew right by. From there it was plain to see there was no middle ground to be found, we are on opposite sides of the fence on this topic. Oh Blah de Oh blah dah.

I was only voicing my skepticism about the new mic modeling “turning the world of mics upside down”, or whatever.
I wasn’t the one that brought “pods” into the discussion, I simply said that I was never impressed with Line 6 amps and that I didn’t expect any more from their mics.
EZ asked me surprisingly if I ever/never used pods…???...and once I told him that I had no purpose for them…he spent 3-4 pages trying to tell my why they had a purpose, and me telling him that *for me* they had NO purpose.
Of course…that didn’t sit well, and as usual, when you say something negative about a piece of gear or technology, someone will immediately counter and that will push up the debate…that’s how/why it went back-n-forth for a few pages…and I will point out it takes at least two people to make it go back-n-forth. ;)
Unless you always agree with people…this is what happens on forums, but I don’t have a problem with that…that’s what forums are about…debates, discussions and differing views.
Trouble is…some people sooner or later, resort to personal, mocking attacks. That usually stems from lack of substance in their debate position and a lack of character in their personality.
Once that occurs…all’s fair after that, and I’m not going to just sit there and take it without returning them the favor.

EZ came back several times into the thread every time the debate died down…and kept pushing it, and pushing it…finally turning it into a Junior High name calling effort.

AFA his “fame”…whatever….we all have “remember back when” stories. :D
I’ve had the long hair…played in hard rock bands…gigged around the NE…gave it up…got into studio life…etc…etc…etc….life is funny that way, it makes you go through changes.
I’m not stuck in my youth…I’ve moved on. I still do all kinds of music (I’m sure some of it ain’t gonna win me any points with the usual forum crowd)…though I still get back to my early roots when the mood strikes me. I may even get back out with a Rock/Blues one of these days for the fun of it…but I certainly don’t cling to my past.

Anyone can critique my music freely…if I was thin skinned with a fragile ego, I would never put my music up on public websites! :)
Though when people go beyond “critiques” and instead resort to mocking and name calling…but don’t put up anything current of theirs (not what they did 20 years ago)…
…well, that tells me who I’m dealing with.

I really don’t know what you’re trying to say….???

“Same sex” is not the same thing as “transsexual”.
Of COURSE bands have “same sex” people! If you have 5 guys in the band, they are all the “same sex”…but that doesn’t make any of them transsexuals…at least not in any bands I’ve ever been in! :D
And the women that were in my bands…were real women…trust me.

Here's the VST, this is like the alpha version, so lemme know if it crashes your host :D

3VU Compressor

PC only, because Mac = you suck :p

Hope you dont mind I just downloaded it

worked fine in Ableton 8, just used it on a bass track...some nice features in there MSH and it appeared to work well to me...I A/B it against Abeltons oe one and it was very close..

sorry I cant be more technical...liked the GUI too...I like VUs :)

You had to say that didn't you...and you think the "Pods VS Amps" was a bad debate!!! :D

Nah, the dev tool doesn't support Mac, so it's PC only. I don't really care about that fanboi debate though, it's just a fact of life . . .

liked the GUI too...I like VUs

E'erbody loves VUs :D I didn't do most of the GUI though, I suck at that stuff. The tool (Synthmaker) has a pretty good community; I traded some old mics for the setscrew knobs (below the input and output VUs; they control ballistics), the other knobs are from a knob pack somebody else did. The Process switch and the drop-down menus are stock. The background is a stock photo I bought for $20. The VUs were done by one clever dude, although I did some math to clean up the calibration and ballistics.

The envelope module is stock; I wrote the vari-mu calc which was fun. I also used saturation and oversampling modules from other people; the sat module I modified with DC offset and filters.

So it's basically a giant collaborative effort; I like that method of development because it seems that some of the larger companies aren't paying attention to some of these matters, they are more interested in vintage-looking GUIs.

Nice work anayway...Im gonna tear myself away after the footie and give it more of a go...seriously looks good and with plenty of options

I dont care what the GUI looks like in terms of realism...being able to view whats going on is far more important

Mind if I download that tonight, too?

Yeah, go for it, and lemme know if it doesn't work/crashes :D I am still tweaking the oversampling routine, and I am not totally happy with the input/output/makeup knobs. They are too sensitive, but I also need them to cover a given gain range with 12:00 being 0dB. It's a puzzle, really . . .

Lol @ miroslav fucking up yet another thread with his idiocy. Seriously dude, you suck.

I will!

Not sure if you're doing this, but a whole bunch of programs I've used will let you tweak knobs at a pretty low level of sensitivity if you click on the, but at a much higher resolution if you click on them while holding Ctl?

Don't worry Greg...no one will ever be able to fuck up as many threads as you have...you ARE the idiot King of HR.

Lol@ :D

I only call bullshit when I see it, and you are one huge steaming pile of it.

I've been here long enough....

Yeah...ain't that the truth!

And you want to talk about who/what sucks! :laughings:
Your opinion (and that of a few others around here)....taken as a whole....is exactly that...
...a pile of streaming bullshit.

Get over yourselves... ;) ...don't hold your noses so high up, you're blocking out the sunshine. :D
We're all here on HR....and that says it all.

miroslav, what happened to your signature? yesterday the link took us to your music page. now it's just a small jpeg. :laughings:

We keep our noses up so we don't have to smell the shit you dish. Your posts, your holier-than-thou attitude, your douchiness, your music - all stink.
