Don't stare at the eye.
Miroslav--would you shut up and disappear already? Seriously...
That wasn't very nice of me. I meant to add this:

You were right though. Dude is a fucking joke.
...thinking I give a fuck about selling music....
thought never entered my mind.
may it please the court: For the record (and any newbs who may one day come across this train wreck):
Criticizing someone's music is a very harsh thing to do. This is a "creative community" and we're all at different points on the learning curve. In my years on this forum, i have almost invariably been positive and encouraging with folks and their recordings--even when they were downright awful.
And yet i have (and now others have as well) publicly criticized miroslav's music. So what's the difference?
When people acknowledge that they're on that learning curve and are open to suggestions, and hungry for knowledge--they deserve help, and they'll get it--no matter how good or bad their stuff is at that time.
But when someone is consistently a pompous, hot-air-filled, arrogant, condescending, wind bag--they have to be called on it. There are too many newbies who stumble on to this site, and to them someone like miroslav can make himself sound like a real expert. In cases like that, all we have to judge the credibility of one who acts like such a know-it-all is their music.
I do this all the time--i dig until i find someone's recordings and that tells me all i need to know about whether i'll take them seriously on the forum.
There are tons of people on this board who are farther along that learning curve than i am, and to a person, they're helpful and decent to work with. Oh, they may be real smart asses (greg and ez come to mind!) but they're not condescending and they don't argue for pages and pages just to show everyone how right they are.
If miroslav acted like a mere mortal, and professed to be on the learning curve like the rest of us--i'd have never offered my opinion about his stuff. But the fact is that he constantly holds himself out as an authority. He talks down to folks all the time, and i (and some others) obviously have had enough.
Considering i've only ever done so with 3 folks here on the forum, i'm comfortable with my record.

I think what we need is a studio modelling box, stick any old $10 mic in front of any old $10 instrument, select studio: Abbey Road, Sun Studios, etc etc. Out pops the sound of the studio.
In fact we could take it further, dial up the engineer you want it to sound like, the producer, the musician, than any old talentless anyone can sound like:
Eric Clapton, on a classic Les Paul, through a vintage fender twin.
Recorded at Abbey Road with a C12 microphone.
Engineered by Alan Parsons and produced by George Martin.
Perfect world.
Alan
Don't forget the new Composer Modeller........so my new songs sound like they were written by McCartney.
...but I don't walk away from them either.

Well...maybe the problem is your perception.
I've seen you and others go plenty "know it all" many a time...so don't preach to me now.
Excellent post, man.
Miro - for what it's worth, I'm a pretty easygoing guy and I try to get along with everyone. Usually it's not very hard. But, more often than not, I find whenever I'm talking with you I really have to try.
Hell, man, earlier in this thread I found myself having to defend modeling as a valid technology to you. I'm as big a tube snob as they come and never touch the things myself (they don't work for what I do, personally), but even I'm not a quarter as condescending and cocky about it as you.
There's that saying that gets kicked around on the net a lot -pinions are like assholes, everyone has one." That's true. What it doesn't mean, though, is that just because it's your opinion you get free reign to defend it to the death and mock anyone who disagrees with you. This thread would have ended seven or eight pages ago had you just said, "that's cool, I don't personally like modelers but if you're happy with the results you're getting, right on!"
Ive only seen Whitstrat post as a know it all...but it seems he hasnt got what it takes to get out of the basement and go pro.
and record karaoke?
we've never heard any of your stuff ever....
