Hi, I hope I did this correctly. If you click on the provided link it should take you to my myspace site where you'll find several of my songs. All are rockabilly. The newest is John Fogerty's Blue Moon Swamp. The others have been up for a while but never he less I'd like some feedback on the mixes and the recordings in general. please don't criticize my playing or vocals. I do all myself. here is tghe link:

First, welcome to the clinic...I've only spent about a week here but usually people are great about just speaking to the mix of a song. That said, I don't know how anyone could criticize your playing or vocals--they sound great. I listened to 'Blue Moon Nights', 'Dreaming', and 'You Tell Me'. Its that authentic Sun Records sound. If I had to nitpick, I'd say the lead guitar in 'Blue Moon Nights' could drop at the most 2db...except for the solo portion. I love the mix you got on the vocals and the way the drums sit. Perfect. I listened to some of the earlier songs briefly and I prefer the sound out of your vocals now. I really dig the heavy reverb sound but the other reverb sounded tinny to my ear...where as what you're doing now just sounded like jamming Orbison/Cash kind of stuff.

Thanks, you realy know how to make an old guy feel good. Yeah, I've come a good way as to how to make things sound the way I want them to. I probably should drop the db on the lead guitar like you say.

just listened to Blue Moon Swamp...excellent stuff...adams right regarding the lead guitar..just a little too loud..

Id also say that the vocals seemed a little mid rangey...

great performance and mix otherwise...havent listened to any others but if theyre of this calibre I dont know why you seem so hesitant to share

good stuff :)

Thanks. It's just my inferiority complex. been that way all my life. Now that the whole world can listen i'll probably develop a thicker skin in order to survive.

letting strangers hear you play at first is like laying your soul out on dislay...the first time someone said they liked my singing I nearly fell of my seat...

now the seals broken I can barely shut up ;)

true dat...keep myspace so the unwashed masses can have a listen ;)

yup (and terry you probably already know this) posting it to one of the other sites people use (lightningmp3, soundlick) can just give a better quality mp3...and mp3's are already bad enough :)

now, about this inferiority complex...dude bro, you play like freaking roger miller! that's sweet.

Your all too kind but I love it...

No one outside the family has heard me play in a number of years. Now, I'd like to follow your advice but, you have no idea how many hours ai spent with my daughters help just posting on myspace! could i beg your advice on some simple to follow instructions as to how to place it on the website you mention. bare with me, as I've stated before I'm computer illiterate!

Thanks, your the 2nd person who thinks the Lead guitar is too loud so... I'll change it in a remix by popular demand. This is cool!

Thanks for that Greg...marked in favorites for future reference.

Terry, love the vintage sound! The vocal on Blue Moon Nights could use a bit more body...eq? Listened to all your stuff....nice backup vocals on Early In The Morning. Good stuff.

Would love to hear you do a version of Blue Moon of Kentucky, for all the folks, as they say.

I'm really more of a "listen as far as the first chorus" kind of guy, but I'm currently on "Unfaithful Diane" and plan to listen until I get back to Blue Moon Nights... I may even let it roll after that.

Truly enjoyable, brother! I love anything that likens to older recordings, and this definitely reminds me of Sun Records to some degree. Beyond that, though, GREAT VOCALS, cool instrumentations, neat usage of effects, and, tasty mixes across the board.

I'm with the throngs regarding the lead guitar on Blue Moon Nights, but if that's the only complaint, I'd say your doin pretty good... wouldn't you, Terry?

Wow - glad I clicked on the link! I'm definitely going to listen to all the songs. Everything I like about Orbison without the unwelcome suicidal thoughts - who could ask for more?

I'm in the I-hate-myspace camp - I'd love to hear higher quality versions of your songs.

Thanks again....

and I must say I'm overwhelmed by all the kind and good compliments. I used to play pro years ago in clubs with my brother Don and that was our first band, The Minute Men. (not the california punk band, we were way before them). This was in Miami, fl. We made a trip in '65 to Clovis N.M. to Norman Petty's studios. For anyone who doesn't know, Petty was personal manager to Buddy Holly and the Crickets, Jimmy Gilmer & the Fireballs and recorded Buddy Knox & the Rythym Orchids first stuff as well as Roy Orbison. We,(that is My brother), also recorded 2 sides for Frank Guida in Norfolk, va.(Personal manager to Gary,u.s. Bonds). The Church st.5 did the music, I went for coffee alot! We never had any sucsess with any of our stuff but I've found out lately that 2 of the Petty recordings were released in Holland in '65! That's pretty much my story. I spent 35 years out of music in a sucessful career and have 2 beautiful daughters and 5 wonderful grandchildren. Thanks for putting up with all this, I will probably be notified that I can't post personal stuff!!

Thanks...

I've thought about doing that song over the years but to be honest it's just a little bit too hillbilly for my taste. Not that theres anything wrong with hillbilly, it's just aint me.(I was born in Kentucky, not far from Hazard & Harlan. For those who don't know, that's where Merle Travis & Ike Everly were from(the later being the Everly Bros.Daddy Who, along with Travis originated the Thumb/Finger Picking guitar style later adopted by Chet Atkins & Hank Thompson. later Scotty Moore and James Burton worked it in to their own styles. (Sorry for the history lesson here, if it's in you, it's gotta come out. Long story short, I'll give it a try and thanks for the request.
