I have a refinishing project coming up and I like working with nitro, but I am curious to the new waterbase lacquer. I have read claims it has the same acoustic and working qualities as nitro. Does anyone have any experience with it? Thanks

don't use laquer or any finish at all, keep it the way it is and let the wood breathe and use the natural oils from yourself, from EDDIE VAN HALEN HIMSELF

He obviously wasn't aware of the benefits of talcum powder at that stage of his career.

your kidding me yet again aren't you muttley? you've NEVER? even seen a classical guitarist up on stage clapping off the powder from their hands before they begin?

that's all i'll say aside from the much more i allready have and still could

Seriously if I thought you'd actually care to hear my opinions and experiences with both those finishes and also some of the accepted science behind their influence on the finished instruments tone. As well as some of the practicalities and different approaches to their application, I would share them with you. But you not interested, so I won't.

Instead I shall turn your thread into a train wreck much the same as you have done to mine in the past and to others.;)

i just watched a video with him saying it coming out of his own mouth, more so directed at the neck, not the entire body of frankenstein, or anything before his 30 or 40 or whatever years of experience and godlike worship, but as for the body of the guitar i'd think its close to the same lines and water based would seem to be the best choice at first glance, and more likely at last glance, i'll have to look into it
