Whats the best RAP MIC??!
Hey guys this is probably an easy question for most of you. Whenever I listen to my monitors in REAPER they play the music back smoothly with a small hiss. However, when I listen to my monitors on youtube or any sites or programs besides reaper they make a popping noise every few seconds. I am sure one of my input values must not be right, but what could it be? I had the same problem when I used win xp but now it still exists in win 7. The monitors are KRK rp 8s g2. If you need any other information let me know. Thanks

Are you sure it's the monitors and not your soundcard or something else?

Nah it has to be one of my settings or the monitors. I use them through the FP10 and I tried 2 different FP10s so it is the monitors or the settings. Its not a major deal at all, just something I would like to see if it is resolvable.

Do you hear pops if you plug in headphones into your FP10? (I think it has headphone outputs right?)

It could still be a soundcard/driver/buffers problem. I assume you're using Reaper with the ASIO drivers, however all the Windows audio will go through the WDM drivers. Different drivers, different problems.

I had this problem with one of my Motu interfaces on my Vista PC when I first got it, before I set up my separate drives for audio work. Worked fine when using it in ASIO, but lots of squealing and popping when used for anything else.

Unfortunately I can't be of much help with sorting it though - the fix for my problem was to ditch Vista for XP :p
