I used to have a dog (German Shepard & something mix) that I swear could tell if my music was going in the right direction. He would get excited and wag his tail faster with the right groove, but gave me that tilted head, "what the hell are you doing?" look when I hit a sour note. Some pets are very musical.

My cat LOVES to hear people sing. He'll get really excited and start strutting around, rubbing his face on everything and he'll purr really loud. But, like you said, if you hit one sour note, he'll look disappointed and walk away.

I discovered this while doing laundry with my iPod, singing along to "Sweet Child of Mine"
