Hi!

I'm going to buy a interface, and the 0404 seems nice with USB2 connection,
but I'm confused about the inputs. Hope you can help!

Noticed that EMU 0404 has no Hi-z switch, like Edirol UA-25EX,
so I downladed the 0404 manual and the XLR input is 1,5k Ohm and the tele is 1 M Ohm.

I guess the XLR is for mic and the tele input=Hi-Z should be for electric guitar and bass.
I heard that if you connect line-level to Hi-Z that will sound bad.

So what for line-level input?

I don't like anything about Emu and I would never buy anything from them. I think you have much better choices from MAudio, Presonus, etc...

If you're using it for guitar, you have looked at some of the Line6 products
Behringer has a guitar cable with 1/4" on one end, and USB on the other.

I got a Zoom G7 guitar processor with built-in USB interface, plus a Line In that flows through the USB, as well <combined>

Do your homework before buying. That's what so great about the internet.
