Hi all.

Sorry if this has been answered to death but I couldn't find any recent posts on this...

Has anyone been able to find a VST plugin that accurately mimics wah-wah effects automatically? I've tried a bunch that claim that they do it but the auto-sweeping feature does not seem to work for any of them.

Thanks in advance.

auto wah-wah will never mimic an actual wah-wah pedal, period.

If you could do the effect manually somehow, there you have it.

have you tried autofilter here...might work??

Description
The Classic Auto-Filter is an analog modeled four-pole filter with resonance control. It can be used for creative effects like auto-wah-wah and filter sweeps, as well as a fixed filter for equalizing purposes. The filter is selectable between low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and band-reject (notch). The filter cut-off frequency can be modulated from the envelope follower and the LFO.

That's what I figured. Seems like a simple enough thing. Strange that no one has developed a decent plugin yet.

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried that one too but couldn't get any decent wah effect with it.

If you manage to come up with a patch for this that is half decent, I'd be interested in hearing it. Everything I tried sounded extremely digital and artificial.

To the contrary, I'd be surprised if anybody ever develops a decent plug in for this purpose... at least if we're talking about the traditional guitar wah-pedal sound. Reason being, there's too much of a human element in the movement of the pedal during a performance, and I think any computer simulation is going to sound like just that: a computer simulation.
