Cant remember who was looking for a drum VST again..King of Pain maybe?

One of the ones recommended , Toontracks Superior Drummer 2, was used on Whitney Houston's new Billboard number 1 if you want to hear how a professional can use it....mind you you'll have to sit through a Whitney Houston track as well! lol

yeah it was me. ive actually had EZdrummer for a little while now (i didnt even know about superior drummer yet). but im savin up right now to get superior drummer.

and it sure is reassuring to know a track made using superior drummer made it to number 1#

:D

ez drummer is very good, you can buy different packages to suit your taste i.e metal, country etc

I've saved up a while ago to get both programs, and SD is awesome. You can tweek SD to your preferences, and add EQ, comp, etc to each track. EZD can do it too, but it takes a few more steps to do it. SD has everything ready to go. I highly recommend it, it's awesome. Get the monster midi pack as well too when your at it....they're great as well. I think the just released midi pack 3 now.

you can put EZ drummer straight into seperate instrument tracks on Sonar (Im sure it's similar in other DAWs

from the cakewalk site

"The key is to select All Synth Audio Outputs (usually 'Mono') when you insert EZ Drummer into a project. This will automatically insert eight separate tracks into the EZD track folder.

To assign these eight tracks to the eight microphones on the EZD kit it's a simple matter of opening EZD's internal mixer and selecting the output to Multichannel.

Once you're happy with the drums you can freeze EZD and each track can then be treated separately as an audio track. If you need to make any changes later, a quick unfreeze will display the MIDI data which can then be edited."

gives it much more flexibility...

Whitney Houston has a new number 1 single...wow next you will be telling me that Courney Love has an Oscar:rolleyes:

I like ez-drummer for when I want to make a track for telling a drummer what to do.

Amazing...it wasnt long ago she was just another waste case...I still might have let her babysit before Id call Britney though.

I have an original recording of her biggest hit being sung by the writer...Muhammad Ali...it was on a movie soundtrack in the 70s...one of the gems of my record collection with the Will Shatner stuff...lol.

In case you didnt know Courney Love does have an Oscar...lol.

The American public loves a loser/comeback scenario.....her musics still shit but the guy that totes Superior for Toontrack, Pat Thrall, engineered this and did a pretty good job...

I think she recorded "I wanna dance" with a behringer mic!:D

While this is being discussed. Im up to 75% sure me and the misses will be giving each other apple products for xmas this year, (fingers crossed, me imac, she macbook or macbook pro) So is easy drummer compatible with mac's? Moreover can it be used with garageband?

Or shuld i just get them to install logic studio and charge extra?

It works on a Mac...so Im sure garageband will be no problem...

I have question. Does Superior Drummer 2 have ability separate my microphones into DAW?
Mixer in Superior is good but i would like to apply reverb to my snare, and have a control with my plugins.

Yes. There are two ways to do this:
1) Set the output of the mics to different tracks and then add your plug ins.
2) Use the pre-mixer bounce feature and create .wav files from the mics. Then import them back into the DAW as a regular track. (This way saves some CPU usage) This way also allows you to blend the samples with drumagog if you want to alter the sound a little bit.

Based on some songs I've heard which have EZ drummer, I really don't like it all!

I myself have Ministry of Rock from Eastwest which has rock drums, basses and guitars. The drums are very nice in my opinion.

Superior drummer 2 looks like a good sounding and flexible drum library based on youtube videos and it isn't even that expensive. I might even concider buying it some time.

Thank you for answer.
Finally I'll propably choose the second option.

the big difference for me is the ability to process the dry sounds themselves...EZs samples appear to be already processed which doesnt give them much scope for manipulation...id still say you could get something very decent sounds out of them but just dropping in a midi file to an untouched kit wont be the way to do it

I also find myself not launching different tracks for SD2s separate drums as the mixer within the programme is so comprehensive and the sonalkis effects are excellent...makes the whole experience much easier

I use Addictive Drums, as much as ive used it, i think its fairly solid you can get some sweet sounds and all the kits a plain sapled so you can do what ever you want to them. as much as drum VST's go though ive only used addictive drums, had a go with battery 3, didnt think too much of it though.
