Whats the best RAP MIC??!
Hey guys. Just today I got my new KRK Rp-8 G2 monitors in, and I want to put them to use. I am connecting them via TRS to my firepod (fp10), which is connected to my mac using firewire. I am just wondering how long a brand new Firepod can stay on for, without overheating. Also, how long can my monitors stay on without blowing. I want to use them for my brothers party as PA's basically. They will be going mighty loud, full volume on the firepod almost, and like plus 3 db on the monitors themselves. Now, if you guys could tell me if this is a bad idea and why, please do. Also, let me know how long the monitors and the fp10 can stay on without blowing out. Thanks guys!

My firepod has been on almost constantly for 4-5 years now. The speakers should be no problem either.

Like on, blue light kind of on. or just plugged in kind of on? My brother wants non stop music for like 6-8 hours if the speakers and firepod can handle that. What do you think?

Lol with the FP10s failure rating I am scared. I hope you are right though man. Any other input is greatly appreciated!

I would never use Studio Monitors at a party, someone will spill food and drink over them, they are not designed to run super loud for hours on end with no break. Look after your gear.

Get hold of some PA speakers and an amp, or a big old hifi and run the firepod into that.

Cheers

Alan.

p.s. I have a firepod running audio for 12 hour sessions in my studio, no problems.

Alright so the firepod can stay on. The monitors will be playing through my window on the 1st floor in a locked room, so no one can ruin them. However, we do not have the money right now to go and buy a PA. Worst comes to worst, would it be okay if I did 2 hours on, and then gave the monitors half hour off. Then I would repeat this process.

The time they're shut down while you're talking to the cops should be sufficient cool down... Just crank 'em back up as soon as they leave. (Repeat as necessary). If the police never show... they'll shut down all by themselves if they get to hot...

Its fine.. The police can't catch me im too fast.;)...Anyways, my neighbors and I are wayyyyyy spaced out. Like 3 acres on each side.

If the monitors are new, i would suggest to do a break-in on them, kinda like playing very very low and high freqs for several hours at moderate volume.
if you go full on with music withouth the break in, you can ruin the speakers.
google speakers break in, there is tons of info and frequency generators that can help you do it, this will ensure long life and better performance
