How do I get this?
This link doesnt open up a player for me and just takes me to a default page.

Soul Motion, isn't really a tiresome track to listen to, at least that's the kind of feedback I've had from mixers here.

cybergord

I keep seeing this thread pop up and figured what the heck...I'll give it another shot. So I got out my trusty Mixing Engineer's Handbook and went to mixing. I am mixing on headphones. However, I think this is defintely better than my first attempt. :)

Sorry Cybergord, you've got to be tired of listening to this song by now.

$65 to master my crappy song? I guess it's time to try out that T-Racks demo.

I send this guy a p.m. (since he changed the topic of the post)telling him i could do it for free and send him a sample of it. If it was not to his liking then no worries, if he did like it he could check my site for more info about services.
my site shows mastering for $15

lots of folks on this board have sites about there audio services.
Over the years i have spent thousands of dollars and loads of time in this art, I'm not being conceded about what i do and i think my prices are pretty modest for my work.

Well i guess everyone has there hand out for free stuff. and i have done my share of free stuff for new comers on this board.........

bring on the neg. rep tateros

So where did the $65 come in? I went to your site and it says $15/song for mastering. I personally think that's a fair deal and I might take you up on it. :)

PEACE!!!!!!

T-Racks demo is not gonna help you master your song. "Knowledge is!"

dude, what in the world are you talking about?
So where did the $65 come in?
LOL!!! He added the total for recording, mixing and mastering which is $65 if he recorded for one hour!?! All I gotta say is(in a grunt voice), "what an idiot":D
If he can't read, than I suspect he can't doing anything good musically! hmmm:rolleyes: Don't waste your time mike, judging his illiteracy, I'm sure it's not worth mixing or mastering his creativeness even though money is money$$$$ Lol:D

Hey everyone,

can anyone here help me out by mastering my song?

How are you getting help by someone else mastering your song? If you track your own songs, mix your own songs, the next step is to learn how to Master your own songs! Once your at that stage, than ask for help!

I wanna know what's wrong with $65/song? It's not like that's an extreme amount of money for quality mastering. A bit on the high side, perhaps, but not extreme. Lo-fi, if you do a decent job of true mastering, you're ripping yourself off and giving your stuff away at $15/song :o.

Hey this is my first mix version of the song. I used Cubase SX3 as i have quiet alot of Vst Plug Ins. Let me know what you think Cybergord. Keep in mind im into heavy metal not really my genre lol Here's the link

:)

yah..thanks for trying but I cringed all the way through this....it's difficult to get the right blend of backing and lead vox. LoFi Mike got it perfectly.

Maybe $65 for the mastering job is worth more than the "crappy" song is worth.:rolleyes::D

Yes, $65 is $65 more than the song is worth, not to mention wasting a professionals time, since I wouldn't dream of investing into something I can do myself for free. It's one thing to buy tangible goods, such as a preamp.

...But what really threw me off is that I came here expecting to get help from fellow home recording enthusiasts. The last thing I expected was to get spammed by anyone here. If I really wanted to invest money into my work, I know how to use the proverbial phone book.

But I see I have no fans here, so pick away.

Oh and by the way, I agree with Glen that $65 is not too much to ask, so $15 is a ridiculous deal per song! I wouldn't go through the hassle of cleaning up someone elses audiophonic mess for $15!

why am i typing this

But what really threw me off is that I came here expecting to get help from fellow home recording enthusiasts. The last thing I expected was to get spammed by anyone here.

you did not ask a question about mastering.
you did not say here is a sample, where am i going wrong.

you asked for a service. I did not, in any way, come at you like SPAM.

I have mixed projects and mastered tracks for free cause it was presented as a contest or similar atmosphere. I have never asked for money in return "ask CyberGord or TheForgotten just to name the last two"

On The other hand i have came across post of guys looking to get some work done and were willing to pay for it.

But I see I have no fans here, so pick away.

I don't think people here are being ugly toward you, they just call it like they see it, I myself have no bitter feeling toward you. I have not given you neg. Rep. for lieing on me and saying i spamed you for $65. you know the p.m. was nothing like that and was very friendly.

so $15 is a ridiculous deal per song! I wouldn't go through the hassle of cleaning up someone elses audiophonic mess for $15!

$15 dollars is ridiculous, but free is more understandable.
and if your mix is an audio-phonic mess, then you need to ask folks to help you mix your song, and worry about mastering latter.

This one single paragraph itself just begs for a multitude of big questions to be asked. Don't blame someone else for asking them:

- If the song is that much of a stinker, then what's the point of mastering it?

- If it's a waste of time for a pro - who gets paid for his time whether it's good or bad - how can it possibly be anything but a total waste of time for someone to do for you for free?

- If you can do it yourself, then why did you ask if someone else would do it for you?

- "It's one thing to buy tangible goods" but time, effort and talent have no value?

- If you agree that $65 is not an unreasonable price, then what even gives you the big brass balls to ask to have it done for free? Or to pretend to take umbrage at someone offering to do it for you for less than 1/4th that price?

Well, considering this thread became an infomercial for Lo-Fi Mike's $3 an hour Mastering Service, I know I'm not going to win the battle as far as who is the liar here. Feel free to give me neg reps. If it doesn't make me money or make me happy, I'm not interested anyway.

As for Glen,

what's the difference if the song is a stinker or not? I just wanted to compare what someone elses vision might be, compared to mine. Not to mention the song being a "stinker" wasn't even in that paragraph you quoted that begged for such profound questions to be asked.

As for mastering my song being a waste of time: This is a website for home recording, so if someone helping me out with home recording is a waste of time, then the whole website has become a waste of time.
