Hey guys,

It's been a while. I've been crazy busy with work, gigging, recording (but not my tunes), etc....

I managed to throw this together in the last few days. As usual, this is just a first mix and I'm sure I'll get good advice here on what to improve.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanx

SO HIGH SOLO

(hey,this is my life:D)
I´m not posting in the clinic in the last four weeks (at least).Great coincidence.

Very good song as usual,

It´s ever hard to criticize your mixes because use to sounds well balance.
What I noticed : the guitar (mid)frequencies (400/1k, let´s say), are more strong than your previous songs (what isn´t good or bad, just different)

Mix is definitelly great (bass/high frequencies).
But for a more "Rami" style , cut a bit the 800hz (large Q) would be an "option" (but not necessarily a must)...

Ciro

Well you're way above my class Rami and so I'd be out of my depth to even begin to advise you but, I will say that I really like the song, the prodution and the performance. The guitaring is a little loud for my personal preference but other than that...I couldn't fault it. Drums are great, bass is spot on, vocal is loverly and clear and the harmonies are perfect.

A great track mate. Thanks for sharing...

Mart.

Thanx a lot, CIRO. I'll look into the 800hz EQ you were mentioning. It's been so long since I've finished a song, it almost seems like my ears are starting over, definitely out of "listening" practice.

Hey Mart, I really appreciate that. I'm finding the guitars maybe a little loud, too, now that I've listened a few times. I pretty much mixed right after tracking, which is never a good idea.

Thanx again for the kind words and for taking the time to listen.

Great song man. I love how within the first 2 seconds of your stuff I can already tell it's a Rami tune. If someone sent it to me and claimed it as their own, I'd know it was bullshit. Your sound is one-of-a-kind and unmistakable.

For a quick mix, this is pretty good. The rhythm guitars are a little loud, but they sound very good. For a little while there they were getting dark, but you got them just right again. The lead is a little low, but it might fall in place with the rhythms turned down. Snare sounds great. I love how you cleanly capture the ghost notes and subtle rolls. Even if I could do that stuff, I don't think I'd be able to record it worth a shit. Snare sounds snappy and clear and present. The bass/kick relationship is fantastic. Whatever you change as you mix this further, don't touch that. Vocals sound awesome as always. Ending harmonies are very aerosmith-ish and sound great. All around a kick ass job.

Rami, really nice recording. I don't know that I'd cut the guitars any, those levels to me match the bass and drums. I'd just raise the vocal level just a titch. Not much, just bring 'em forward a tiny bit. Even if you don't, it still sounds fantastic.

Hey Rami, I had the pleasure of listening to your music for the very first time right now and WOW :D that tune was great man! I would have to agree with guitarzero , I like the levels of the guitar personally, but the vocals could have +notch on the volume and that's it. Great overall mix and tune. Thanks for the share, hope to hear more from you~LV

The few bar screams RAMI - the growl to the bass, the funked drums & then the guitars. The vocals - wow you've really developed your harmony skills - I mean they were already good but wow.
The intro to the gtr solo could use just a little boost but I like the level after that.
Nice little Jimi reference in the lyric!
Nice visual pun in the title too.
1st rough mix from a busy man - well if only I could!

AMAZING! Seriously that was killer I would pay for that no doubt. Kick and bass is yummy(only word I could find to properly describe it :p)
Keep it up man
Matt

Another hit, RAMI,

I really like the lyrics and the double line kind of staggered on the chorus is brilliant.

Yeah, the rhythm git is a bit overpowering, but I don't care.

Overall this is a good listen and I don't have any nits at all.

Your drums are amazing as usual.

I have to watch myself, "thou shalt not covet."

Wig:)

Reduce the rhythm gtrs just a dB. The lead guitar could have more in the lower mids. Beyond that, the balance is fine. Every instrument/vox part sounds great tonally.

I respect the fact that you don't autotune your vox. But if you did it wouldn't be a bad thing, as some of the high notes are little flat and you could touch those up invisibly.

You're an excellent musician.:)

Thanx Wig. Any positive comment on my lyrics from a master wordsmith like you is a huge compliment.

Thanx for that, Tim. I might re-do the vocals and try to nail some of those notes better. Or, I could claim, like Neil Young, that flat high-notes are an integral part of my "sound". :D

Thanx alot Mr. Zero. I'll be re-mixing this and I'll make sure the vocals are up a bit. Thanx again, bro.

Thanx Greg. I worked on my guitar sound A LOT, mainly due to your critiques on some of those past tunes. Don't ever hold back on the criticism, it's exactly what I need, and I consider your ears gold.

P.S. Weird, the multi-quote feature quoted everyone out of sequence......whatevah.

...and I just realized that the multi-quote didn't get everyone........

Hey thanx a lot Louie. Like I said above, I'll be bringing up the vox a bit next re-mix. Thanx for the nice words, brother. :)

Thanx Ray. Nice to hear from you, cob. You're right about the first part of the solo with the slide, being low. Originally, that was supposed to be a bridge with vocals, but I decided to leave it instrumental. I then should have taken a different approach to it and made the slide louder.

Thanx a lot! everyone. You're all a great help.

Hey Rami!
Where have you been, we've missed you!
Oh so cooooool!
The pluses:
your voice
the harmonies
the guitars
the arrangement
the awesome drums
the growling bass

The minuses:
none at all

I find the balance of the voice just right, I don't feel it too low.
Simply a wonderful song and don't stay away long again! ;)

Joey :):):):)

Joey, you're too kind my friend. :)

Thanx Jason. I use 2 C1000's as overheads, a D-112 on the kik, and an SM57 on the snare....and I record in a small room with a 7' ceiling. Less than ideal conditions. That's why I insist it's all about tuning the drums and hitting them nice and hard.

Great song Rami - the mix sounds good to me. Your writing continues to hold that high standard that we've always enjoyed. Good Stuff!:D:cool::D

I hear obvious clipping here and there midstream into the song and I think the main vocal should be a helluva lot stronger than it is.

Other than that..........awesome! :)
