Hi All,

My M520 is missing about 12 jumpers (or so, I'll have to count). Do you have any that you can spare? If so please PM me!

Thanks

I need some too , if anybody has a source.
( after ethan, of course)

Thats what is there now. I'm replacing the 6" patch cords with any jumpers I can scarf up.

I realize the stock jumpers look better but I doubt they will improve performance. besides, who can see them once the board is installed?

If you can find the right gauge of wire for the center of the jack thats all you need. Go get some solid cooper ground wire from lowes or menards some place like that and bend them into the right shape and thatwill work great.

8 AWG solid copper works well. The RCA spec calls for a 0.146" center pin (if you can trust wikipedia) - 8 guage is 0.1285" and is quite available. 7 guage is closer to spec at 0.1443" but much harder to come by. Also, all my RCA jacks measure at 0.125" - go figure.

In any case I'm looking for 12 Tascam plugs to replace the 6" jumpers I'm currently using. Think of it as a Grail Quest.

Thanks - Ethan

PS Here is where they will go....

Whoa! That is a monster setup! Do you have any more pictures of that room? Can you post a link or start a new thread and post the pictures there? I wanna see more! :)

I'll keep my eyes open, Ethan. I know what you mean by wanting the original part... I'm of the same mind with many things. I've seen them on eBay in the past, but it's been a while. I remember when a local music store used to carry them, but that's been even a longer while.

OK So what are you building down there in the lower right corner???????

(I just got a PCB for the "PRR Varimu compressor," going to start getting parts for it and build that as soon as I fix the EM 12ax7 preamp I built about 15 years ago (distorts badly)

Thats 2 channels of Yamaha PM1000 mic preamps that I'm recapping and getting ready for a 1U chasses.

Ethan, as another thought you might want to keep your eyes peeled for an MX-80 on eBay or something...you talked about wanting to play with one of those someday...if you can find one that's got 'issues' but has the jumpers intact (they are identical to the M-500 jumpers) you could get it on the cheap...got mine for 35 bucks...the jumpers are only needed if you are taking advantage of the stereo buss on the MX-80...otherwise they're pulled to use the SEND jacks as the direct outs from the preamps. Just a thought.
