I have recorded a track Drums (break) Vox Guitars and bass using Acid Pro 5
No time to do a mix.
Im interested to know if anybody has time to do such a task.
I just want to put it on youtube.
I have a rough mix ......for anyone interested,
Nothing deadly serious....but a great song.
Cheers

I am willing to give it a shot.

As I don't use Acid please do the following:
Export each track to a separate file (mono or stereo as appropriate) making sure they're the same length or at least the start points are the same to ensure proper alignment when I import them into Cubase.
Please note the sample rate and bit depth of the files (preferably 44.1/16 or higher).
Zip the files to make it easy to send them.
You can use yousendit.com to trasfer the files.

Thanks!

I want in on this one too....

So where are the tracks?

Im back

Took me ages to prepare this.

So you all want to mix it? hehe ...why not?
Tell me how to get it to you or just download the zip at
www.mp3cart.co.uk/soul_motion-ascension2012.zip (118mb)

Its a song inspired by our favourite website
projectcamelot.org
(and commissioned by my best friend who claims to be enlightened. He's recorded guitar for the very first time)
those in the know will ....know what thats all about.

I have 10 tracks in the zip, very raw and my rough mix.
44100hz 16 bit 132 bpm

This is my rough mix

See if you can beat that, I only mixed in Acid 5.

Winners will all appear on my website....to be revealed.

btw....its good old british rocknroll guys!

I am downloading it now... I won't listen to your mix until I get a rough mix of my own started. I don't want to influence myself in one way or another. I will mix it the way the tracks dictate. Should have something for you to listen to by the end of the week.

I can already see a problem. I am not even sure how it happened, but your mp3 is playing at 132bpm, but the tracks you sent to mix are only around 125 or 126bpm (I am still trying to nail the exact beat with my metronome). Did you expect us to speed it up and not change the pitch?

I can do it, I was just wondering...

Speed

Hmmm......it was recorded in Acid at 132bpm

I guess it should be mixed at that in your software?
I dont know how it works?

I really dont know?

actually they are all from the same starting point.....so I guess you have to speed them all up to be in tune and the key is A.

I got it. The files were playing back at 0.909 rate. I simply sped my playback rate up to 1.1 and added a pitch shift down one 1 semi tone.

Anyway, here is a quick mix; I am still going to tweak it:

Soul Motion

I didn't think they were that bad. I should have a better mix tomorrow or the next day. You never said what you thought of the mix...

Anyhow, I noticed that the song cut out abruptly on my mix, so I fixed that. I'll see if I can give the backing vocals a little polish.

I not keen Rocket....but I'll play it on hifi tomorrow, its 4am here.....sounds way too tame so far and the backing vox make me cringe.....but then thats me.

Fair enough. I'll plug at it some more tomorrow and see what I can do. My ears are tired now.
