7.3 to 7.4 auth code?

I bought an mbox2 last year. Per digidesign it looks like Im good for a free upgrade to 7.4. I could download it fine but for auth code it says either use code from manual (which wont work as its for version 7.3 and it starts with
digi0703,version 7.4 has to start with digi0740) or upgrade manual. I did it online so I have no validation code to use. I have tried using my 7.3 version code just starting it off with digi0740 but no go. Am I going at this all wrong? Sure looked as if I could upgrade online.

I think you should be able to request it from Digi themselves..Have you registered your product yet?
 
Yes, I did register it. I have a my digi login. It shows my mbox but funny thing is the code there is different than what I have on inside cover of manual. I could call them Monday or I thinking of just getting version 8. The "experts" at guitar center said digidesign should have sent me new auth code via email.

Oh yeah! I tried it. I tried my old code with digi0740 in front of it, with the original digi0730 in front and the online code. Nothing works. I should be able to free upgrade to 7.4 per digidesign but no go for now. I'll have to call them tomorrrow,this should be fun!
 
You will only be entitled to a free upgrade if you purchased the system after the announcement date of Pro Tools 7.4 (I forget exactly when it was).

Assuming you entered your details in correctly (including the purchase date) then it should have triggered your amnesty upgrade email to be sent out. When did you purchase the system?

If you believe there is an error, contact Customer Support.

By the way the code on your My Digi page is just a generic 7.3 one which is given out to anyone. You need to go through an activation process to receive the correct auth code.

Pez. Yeah I went to mydigi and saw the different auth code than my manual has.The one in my manual works.

If you're correct with your purchase date then you will receive the free upgrade.
