Hello all,

I have just started using plugins when recording guitar in cubase. They are great. Only thing is, I like to hear the effect as I play along without any delay. I have an audio interface with ASIO soundcard and I have tried reducing the number of buffers and buffer sizes but there is still a slight delay. I can hear the direct signal via my interface (monitor mix) and I could turn off the monitor in Cubase to avoid hearing tis delay when recording but I like to hear the effect as I play. Is this something I am just going to have to live with?

And I downloaded a couple of free amp sims. I put them into what seems the right folder in program files but they don't show up on the menu of available plugins.

Can anybody help?

Best

Matt

Basically you'll have to live with it, unless you get hardware that's integrated with the software like Yamaha n series mixer. My Yamaha n12 has a "wet" monitoring feature where you can run a plug as your playing and do not notice any of that latency echo at all. I was blown away the first time I heard this.
